XFtoWP - XenForo to WordPress integration

XFtoWP - XenForo to WordPress integration [Paid] 1.6.1

No permission to buy ($79.00)
I wanted to share a sneak peak of the upcoming XFtoWP 1.6 series with a focus on... Webhooks!

Thanks to the new Webhooks system in XenForo 2.3, your WP website will be able to know what new content is posted, edited, deleted, and interacted with, right as it happens from your forum.

XFtoWP already has important functions like registering users across sites, showing latest posts and threads, and eCommerce membership subscriptions, however these requests always had to be initiated via WordPress and were oftentimes limiting or made for less than ideal workflows.

Well, Webhooks and XenForo 2.3 open up "the other line" and make syncing back to WP based on actions that happen on your forum highly efficient and excitingly powerful.

There are many possibilities with Webhooks, and the first focus for XFtoWP 1.6 is to make sure your site processes them safely and makes the data easy for you to access and build upon.

How have you imagined using Webhooks for your sites and what kind of syncing features would you like to see be made with them?

Finally, here's an early screenshot of the new Webhooks interface coming in XFtoWP 1.6. Keep an eye out as there will be a beta dropping pretty soon. :)

This would be appealing:

@Alpha1 This addon may be able to help to an extent:

Although it doesn't use the REST API so it may have limitations if your sites are on different hosts. There is also no add to cart button in the widget listings, but that should be a relatively easy tweak to make.

Overall I like this idea, as XFtoWP can act as a transmitter back to XenForo as well, and I can look into it after the Webhooks release for version 1.6.

kolakube updated XFtoWP - XenForo to WordPress integration with a new update entry:

XFtoWP 1.6 - enhanced syncing capabilities with Webhooks integration

IMPORTANT: While most of the functionality of XFtoWP 1.6 is complete, there are still a couple of minor missing features and interface changes that still to be made.

It is strongly recommended you do not run beta software...

Hello,

Is it possible to ensure that a file (zip, xlsx, docx etc.) that we add to Wordpress blog content can only be downloaded by a permitted user group on the XenForo side?

Thanks,

Hello,

Is it possible to ensure that a file (zip, xlsx, docx etc.) that we add to Wordpress blog content can only be downloaded by a permitted user group on the XenForo side?

Thanks,
Yes, XFtoWP allows you to save specified usergroups to the WP user so you will be able to know which XF usegroups are active on their account from WordPress.

For your case specifically, a little custom code will be needed to hide your specific content. But the needed flags are already set by XFtoWP.

Would it be possible for someone to create a tool that could cross-sync XF and WP logins so that no matter where someone 'signed up' both systems held the account information? And if someone were willing to undertake that task, can an estimate be provided? I host both on the same domain, and server.

@mattrogowski I would love to have your team for it, you may be a little out of my available budget, but if at all interested, I'd love to discuss it more, and I firmly believe it would have some good commercial applications for you as many people still try to utilize XF for the community backend, and WP for their homepages front end.

Appreciate any thought or consideration you'd give. ❤️

This addon may fit closer to your needs

I have been following this add-on for a long time, it is quite successful.
For me, the detail I asked is very critical.
I want to add a file for almost every post on my wordpress site. these files can only be downloaded by members who have upgraded their Membership Account in XenForo and are included in the X group. for others ‘you cannot download, you must upgrade your account, etc.’ a warning should appear.

If you can add this feature, I would like to buy your plugin immediately.

Thank you for your interest.

Thank you, I appreciate you following along! The show is about to get a whole lot more interesting with all the possibilities unlocked by the new Webhooks integration.

Do you already have a plan to host these files? It seems the most secure way is to have the files hosted and locked down from XenForo (does User upgrades have this built-in, or is an addon needed?), then writing some simple conditionals on WordPress to show/hide the access links where needed. I can help with that part as it is fairly trivial to check for these details thanks to XFtoWP.

I currently have a website that is already live with XenForo.
My goal is to move all the files I share in the Resources Add-on to Wordpress so that they are live on another domain. Of course, the Wordpress system and the Xenforo system must be compatible with your plugin at every stage.

I also want to download the files via Wordpress, not via XenForo. However, the links in the XenForo Resources Add-on should no longer be accessible. The files added there should be published in wordpress with download rules.

Of course, after moving all the files, how can we do this when adding new content to Wordpress, unfortunately I have no idea about that part.
I think your opinions on this subject will be important.

From the WordPress side you will need a plugin like Download Monitor to create a logged-in-only downloads area for WP users. It will be best to use a plugin that already offers file protection for logged-in users only as they also come with an easy to use admin for creating/uploading new files, setting up protection rules, and even offer useful download statistics.

A well-made ecommerce or membership plugin will allow XFtoWP to hook in (see example list from Download Monitor) and add a usergroup check on the WP user's connected XF usergroups and block the download when needed.

XFtoWP offers bulk action and sync-as-you-go features that connect WP and XF users to share info like usergroups to make this all of this work so user's can easily sync together without a difficult setup.

I hope this doesn't sound too overwhelming and if you wish to schedule a private consultation feel free to send me a DM. If you go ahead and buy the plugin I am active at the XFtoWP forums to guide you along as you need help.

@kolakube as you may know the very popular Xenforo add-on Paid Registrations is dead, leaving many people without way to sell user upgrades. That add-on offers an appealing page to sell account upgrades.

WordPress has a number of solutions to sell subscriptions. If you would be so kind to create a video on how to sell subscriptions on WordPress and how to set up your add-on so that these subscriptions sync with xenforo account upgrades and usergroups so it promotes users after an upgrade is purchased and demotes after the subscription is expired , then I'm sure that this will be very appealing to many.

First time I have seen this product, so trying to get caught up as I recently set up Wordpress on my site and moved xenforo down to /forum.

On the video, I see Wordpress registrations automatically creating xenforo registrations. Does the opposite happen as well? Xenforo registration automatically creates a Wordpress registration?

Thanks to Webhooks in XenForo 2.3 that is now possible with the plugin.

XFtoWP 1.6 is currently beta testing (available to customers) this exact feature and will be released as stable very soon.

It's been a while so I'll have videos for this and your suggestion too @Alpha1

Edit: you can see a tutorial for setting up integrations here.

While XFtoWP 1.6 is nearly stable, it is still recommended you do not run in production until the final release is made available.

Is it possible to use just Xenforo as user registration/login and sync it with Wordpress? Thanks.
