That has been done many times, to no avail. We COULD always say that the price and release will be announced when appropriate, and that the XF team will know exactly what they are doing based on years of experience, while at the same time keeping the price reasonable when compared to what is currently in the market.
Sounds like Detroit, Summer is about 2 days in AugustNot in Wales, no. They have a month of summer and the other 11 months are winter.![]()
Its also quite annoying for customers to be demanding to pay more for a product.Ditto....its quite annoying seeing people think they will be able to pay some low price for what is clearly a very decent piece of software. I'm expecting $200+.
hahah couldn't agree any more...Its also quite annoying for customers to be demanding to pay more for a product.
The amount of ballwashing is reaching epic levels.
Do you guys do this for other products too?
Car salesmen must love you.
Its almost like a reverse auction in here.
At the rate we are going the price of XF is going to get inflated to around $500 a pop.
(waits for someone to say "$500+")![]()
Comparing it to other software, other than a lack of bloated poorly implemented features, XenForo is already comparable at an alpha stage. Its also quite annoying for customers to be demanding to pay more for a product.

Most people are following what has been said: XenForo will be priced competitively to vBulletin and IPB. Saying you want to pay $50, $100, or something that wouldn't match close to their price is purely insulting.
We need an lol smiley in XF.Comparing it to other software, other than a lack of bloated poorly implemented features, XenForo is already comparable at an alpha stage.

Its unlikely that XenForo will have some outrageous price, however, the people who are saying they'd pay more are the ones that have forums that pay for themselves, or can afford to do so. Its not even fanboying, or ballwashing as you so eloquently (I hope you sense the sarcasm), but it is showing that they can see the benefit of XenForo over other systems.
If you can't, you're about as smart as your posts have lead me to believe, and I'll just leave you with figuring out how much I believe that is.
Kier and Mike have said that it would be priced competitively. Don't forget what I posted earlier today - vB was priced at $160 when it was first released. You forget that xenforo is not an established forum yet, so let us get real here for a minute. To compete with the big boys and to attract a wide range of customers the price should be less than those of the well known established paid forums. And there is nothing insulting about this.
Let them rant, they will stop once they get their .zip file and paid whatever is asked.Kier and Mike have said that it would be priced competitively. Don't forget what I posted earlier today - vB was priced at $160 when it was first released.
And the funniest part is that im not even in this boat either. You forget that xenforo is not an established forum yet, so let us get real here for a minute. Absolutely correct. And it will continue to get even better with each release.
Trust me, it will be worth whatever price tag they stamp on it.![]()
well, its worth pointing out, and Kier should know exactly what I mean here: CBeebies have swapped to the 'Autumn' Song in the last week or sothat means Summer is officially over.
(I think the four CBeebies seasons songs use a snippet of each of the concerto for the appropriate season by vivaldi... )
Then wait for future releases when it may become suitable. The really unfortunately thing is that it is currently unsuitable for one of my uses at this current moment![]()
And to me thats a competitive price. I dont think anyone has objected to such a price.Kier and Mike have said that it would be priced competitively. Don't forget what I posted earlier today - vB was priced at $160 when it was first released.
Well that is quite obvious. There is no crying over spilled milk.Let them rant, they will stop once they get their .zip file and paid whatever is asked.
Hilarity ensues...Don't close threads because of one or two users making bad posts. Take their posts out, leave them a warning private msg, and let those who post normally here not get punished by a few others ..
Spock must be rolling over in his grave due to this abuse of logic.Who cares when it comes out and how much it is.
Even if it is $459 you will buy it if your professional site needs it .. if you need it THAT much, it's obviously an investment you'll willing to at least consider.
If not, then I guess you are not that serious about your site, or maybe don't NEED it THAT much.
It will be out when it is out.
It will cost whatever it will cost.
If you have the budget, and you want it, you will buy it, or you will wait. Or decide not to buy it.
Those are facts.
