XenForo 1.3 General Discussion & Feedback

It doesn't. You tell it when someone's email bounces by changing their state to that. (Hence, it's just a new user state and very minor overall; otherwise, you'd see a whole thing on bounced mail processing.)

I like the new features, the only thing I find disappointing would be the new conversation permission, currently without an addon it's impossible to stop an ongoing pm which make both the pm permissions a little obsolete for us, for some buisness boards like ours this is important.

Overall though a nice update.

Most of you won't be able to see this yet so here's a sneak peek.

If a thread has had any form of moderator action performed on it, a new link appears in the tools dropdown:

View attachment 65410

Clicking the Moderator Actions link produces this:
View attachment 65411

Should "Moderator Actions" be "Moderation History" or something instead? Moderator Actions isn't self-explanatory for me. Maybe a US thing.... ;)

Hi Mike,

Thank you for so many wonderful features that will be introduced in 1.3.

One concern I have is that outside URLs are now really ugly. Here an example:

http://www.google.com

When I copy this link I get the following:

Code:
http://xenforo.com/community/proxy.php?link=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&hash=dbe607508848eb6e5d37cd577eb3f661

Are you planning on keeping it this way?

Yes, that is the way the link proxy is intended to work. If you do not want it, you can disable the link proxy.

I thought the link proxy was only useful on https websites.

Hopefully Mike will turn off this feature here as it makes copy/pasting URLs more difficult.

You are thinking of the image proxy, which caches the image locally so that it can be served over HTTPS. The link proxy is more for logging.

The links proxy does a click count so you can see what links are being clicked and being posted to your site.

Seems like it would have been better to expand Google Analytics integration to handle this rather than create a new feature to do what Analytics already can.

Not everyone uses Google Analytics. ;)

 I realize that. It is as default feature of xenForo and has been since release. It would make sense to expand tracking for that to support click tracking instead of creating an entire new feature that does that using your server resources.

Furthermore, using Google Analytics doesn't screw up every single url on your site and make linking a nightmare.

Thank you for the clarification.

I hope Mike will take into consideration how important it is to be able to copy and paste links here on XenForo and disable the link proxy feature.

Internal links aren't proxied.

Right, but when someone copies and pastes an entire thread and then pastes it on another xenForo site or a site with a WYSIWYG editor, it will include the proxy portion of the link and those clicks will also count, even though that url is no longer on your forum. Is that not correct?
