What I have learned in the past years is that you shouldn't give out a date until you have something solid

Question about ratings: I think only seller and buyer rating is more than enough... since most classifieds will be one time... or do they need separate rating?

Buyer and seller seems fine, I mean unless this add-on is intended to do multiple things.

Buyer and Seller would work for 99.9% of the stuff currently posted on my own site.

I am not sure but don't some people sell 'multiple sales' item via classifieds? Like service or something?

Already implemented

You can create 'packages' (which can either be free or paid) which users have to chose when creating an advert. This will determine how long the advert will be displayed and other stuff...

I think having a picture of the item selling is a great feature to have.
I have always liked this classifieds page - http://www.thumpertalk.com/classifieds/

it isn't a xf forum but would seem easy to copy. Looks real good, has a picture of the item and pertinent info.

Ratings should work like these addons (and have importers for them)

ahhh yes... maybe make it optional as location may not be needed for 'virtual' items...

Have an option so ads do not expire and are always visible.

adding it to the list... also an fyi: people can renew their 'expired' adverts for a price or for free, depending on the package they have chosen

Suggestions for General Permissions - what I have in mind:

• View Adverts - if revoked users wont be able to access the classifieds section
• View Advert Images
• Discuss Adverts - if revoked users wont be able to post on the associated thread whatever their permission is (except for staff members), might be useful for banning users that post offtopic content quite often.
• Like Adverts
• Create Adverts
• Contact Seller
• Rate Seller
• Rate Buyer
• Edit adverts by self
• Delete adverts by self

Yeah, the permissions are more or less based on XenResource Let me know if there can be more permissions or if I included any unnecessary permissions...
