Thanks for the update. I just wish there was a better way for updating rather than it overwriting the entire theme. I did some modifications for some of my plugins to work with the theme, and when I ran the update, everything was back to its default state. Nonetheless, wonderful theme. I've been getting people asking me where I got it.

That is definitely not normal behavior. We've upgraded a few boards and no issues so far. Make sure to backup your child theme.

Did you by chance upgrade your child theme? That would happen. If it does happen, you need to have that backup ready as there is no undo button.

Since people have issues with upgrading, we are thinking about moving the install process of UI.X and upgrading to a plugin. So there is no risk of this happening to anyone, as it saddens me to hear this happen. I cannot explain it unless you upgraded the child theme, in which case that would be expected behavior.

Also, thanks so much so glad you like the theme. I cannot tell you how happy it makes me when people tell me this, worked so very hard to perfect everything as best we could. And that includes just about starting from scratch 3 times. If you look at v1 (1.2.0.0) and v (1.4.0.1) pretty much everything has been recoded, reoptimized, reconstructed (as far as the architecture of the application), everything. Would not be happy with a lazy product, it had to be the best it possibly could be.

Is it easy to move the social media buttons around on UI.X. I get the feeling that they are a bit lost at the bottom of the page, and would like to give them a bit more prominence.

A couple of simple mockups, although there are a few other places they might look good as well.

Glad you found out how. Whats great too is if you have centered logo on mobile turned on, it should also center these if you have centered advertisements on . Easy peasy!

Never mind... @thejackarmy sorted me out . You can add the following code to the ad_ templates, in this case ad_header. I Moved the search box to the breadcrumbs...

Basically what I did was drag my files from the 'Upload' folder into the proper directories and allowed it to overwrite, then installed the XML file via Import a Style. Maybe I did something wrong there?

That sound right so long as that XML import process you overwrote the parent product (UI.X) and NOT your child theme. Never upgrade your child theme as it consists of purely your changes, not the product itself.

I updated my master, left my child them untouched. I was also shocked how everything went to default...

Oh well, I've got everything back to normal again for now.

I wish I could explain how that happened. Sadly I can only tack it up as a hiccup in XenForo. I've never had it happen to me, so I can never replicate it and debug.

Glad you have everything back. Just goes to show it never hurts to have a backup even if you follow instructions perfectly I guess.

Not sure I understand. But you would want to overwrite OUR products only.

You can also install fresh and move child theme to new install, that works as well.

Can't remember if I checked the top box or the bottom one. I'll see whenever there's another update in the future. I'm not bothered as everything is back to normal. But to clear everything up, I just drag the files from the Upload Folder to their directories -> Overwrite them -> Go into xenForo Import a Style -> Choose the XML -> Tick 'Overwrite Style?'

I went that direction as well because I like the positioning of the search bar and icons better. Something I noticed (not major) is that in ad_header it brings a 'grey bit' above the icons?

Is there any way to implement a hover effect or something nice?

I should have specified more clear, haha. Where your yellow is, it's grey on my end but not when the icons are normally in the footer.

Hrm... is this version compatible with XF 1.4 only?

I'm getting this error on all of my pages now. I haven't upgraded to 1.4 yet so obviously the online marker isn't valid. Is there anything I can do short of rolling back to the previous theme? I tried disabling both of the UIX modifications to the online indicator (the round circle and the pulsating effect) in case it was affecting that.

Now that you have UI.X as a parent you need to create a new style based on that, then any customisation is done in that newly created style

Actually, you set it to Parent style: UIX... it's not a parent of UI.X, it's a child of UI.X.

But since you can't create a new style and set it as a parent, only a child... yes, you did the right thing. Now when you make edits, make sure you're changing that child style.
