Design Criticism

logo.png

your logo letters looks like it was not saved with good quality on maybe? esp around the d etc

on the home page the h1 tag that says Empower your website now has text-shadow: 0 -1px 0 #374683;

it looks better with text-shadow: 0 1px 1px #374683;

I was expecting to be able to click on the slider and the boxes on the home page to goto other pages, no doubt its not finished yet.

Nice tho.

My only suggestion... stick your address on the Contact Us page. I know you're fulfilling the legal requirement (afaik) by having it on your 'Business Profile' page, but, people are likely to start looking for it on the 'Contact Us' page :)

Thanks Alasdair :) It's in the tracker, I might as well do it now :)

Edit: done. I love this CMS.

I've removed the damned sliders, and opted for something I've never seen before:

It's a grid system with images or text which when clicked on, will take you to the appropriate page.

I don't have the PSD of the logo, and I know what you mean. I'll try to get it changed tomorrow :)

As resident language, spelling and grammer Nazi, I'd like suggest that you change "Optimize your website for the web" to "Optimize your site for the web". Not really redundant, but it feels like it is. Not a criticism so much as a suggestion. Looks good to me.

As an aside, many of us have issues with VB, but continue to support it one way or another. The users are not the enemy. Let's just all stay friends while we transition to XF.

Thanks. Just a question though, where the heck have I placed that text? It seems familiar to me though.

:/ The vBulletin-orientated products and services accounts for a good percentage of the income.

At least provide xF with equal representation! The vBulletin icon is a link, the xF icon isn't. :eek:

Actually imo all of the tags in that area should be links "support" etc

I think getting a logo designed professionally can make a good difference. The current want to me does not make much sense. Just a suggestion.

Using IE8 on Win 7:

http://rs-stg.radonsystems.net/
Doesn't contain any of the red used throughout the other pages of the site. Think about including it on the home page somewhere to add consistency.

On the contact pop-out the "X Close" button doesn't work. Also, do you plan to offer more than one language for the form? If not, possibly remove the language drop-down?

Job titles - the smaller "title" text before the larger name of the person doesn't work. I would suggest putting the title after the name, or possibly underneath as the first part of the detail text about the person.

No line space at the end of sections, so the final paragraph is sitting on top of the next heading.

Testimonials - There are no references so the testimonials are meaningless. You need to link to the web site or give a company name to qualify the testimonials.

Headings and Paragraph Text - The headings are starting 12-15 pixels to the right of the paragraph text - this looks disjointed to me. Consider pulling the headings to the left by 5px or so, and then pushing the paragraph text to the right so it starts at the same point. This should give a visually level ruler-line running down the page so that your eye is always returning to the same start point as you work your way down the page.

Not sure if they are populated and supposed to be working yet, but the service bars are not expanding.

The side-bar is missing. It's present on all the other sections of the site, so this is inconsistent. Same applies to all of the service offerings pages.

contact us ... needs linking to the contact form (yes, I know it's a work in progress, but you can add it to your to-do list ... lol)

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Shaun :D

Adding within the next 9 hours, hopefully.

Span's gone missing. Need to fix. Edit: Now fixed.

In Progress. Getting clearance for use.

Not populated. Investigating issue in IE whereby they just don't work at all, i.e. the contained text isn't hidden.

Side-bar added. Sidebar won't be added to the plans pages. They're now sub-unit pages, as per breadcrumbs.
