I installed this and see nothing?

Did I have to install the Download Block to have it render via WF?

I found a block xml in the archive and the instructions read to install via that one if you wanted to use this with WF.

Yes you install this like normal (upload files, install from addon-cta_cdtimer_sidebar.xml ) and if you are using widget framework you install the second xml which will add the ability to use within WFw , then go to options and find the countdown options and configure from there.

But, then what is the sense of putting addon-CTAcdWFwBlock.xml in the download file

Because this addon was made long before WFw existed and was added as an afterthought and I didn't see the point in rewrting an entire free addon when I didn't have to and when not everyone used WFw especially at that point in time. If you don't use WFw you install just the first xml and then configure, if you want to use it as a widget you install the second as well and then you can use the option to pass control of the widget over to WFw.

The rewrite of this addon which I have complete and haven't released at this point makes WFw a requirement since I have had nothing but good experiences with it over time and because it is what makes unlimited timers possible without making this a bigger addon than it needs to be.

OK, got it. But, it's all the way at the bottom and I do indeed have hook:ad_sidebar_below_visitor_panel in the widget position field.

You are going to have to link me to your site (I am absorbed in the new version I had been working on for a while so I can't pull the answer off the top of my head at this time.) and from there I can take a look (acp access might help).

I figured I would note down here that when the rewrite gets released it will also support bbcode (lightly for now) via [countdown] or [countdown=utc] (I may expand the options on this).

I just installed the countdown but shows only 0 0 0 0 and doesn't do the countdown.

I believe I have put all the days hours and other information correctly...
Did I do something wrong? thanks in advance for your help

There are other options at the very top, what are those set to? And are you using this by itself or with the widget framework?

The top option is: Activate
and Enable Sidebar Block

Uncheck that utc adjustment option for now, this addon needs one more update before I cease working on it but I am passing out in a few minutes here.

Well first off I just realized you have the month set to 0. When exactly are you trying to countdown to?

Nice addon but I does not work. I checked the sidebar block, it did not create a block for me to add. I can not add the count down timer to a post either. I am giving it 1 star till I can find a fix. I can not even make a block for it to add it to my page. Honestly I can not even see if it works because it will not show up anywhere.


Aslo the add to page thing does not work. Nothing works....

WTF does that mean. I type the code into the bottom part of the page and POOF nothing happens.... Nothing bout this addon works.. Sorry, but either im stupid or it does not work.

So I download this new addon thing and install it and follow the guide and still NO BLOCK... So I try to create a new block and it wants me to know some stupid server directory, what do i look like MR internet 2014... I can not even figure this app out and both addons do not do anything. The instructions on how to add this to a page, block, widget, node all suck. only like 10% instructions and im left to fend for my self as I hope I do not click the auto destruct button...

Well ... you did not provide me enough information to help you here, and frankly as this is a free addon and hundreds of installations have worked for others, you telling me that the free effort I put into this years ago sucks does not make me want to jump to help you, in fact it makes me want to help people in general less.

So...if you want to rephrase an actual question and do so with respect, I will consider helping you understand your mistake in following directions...otherwise I don't work for free while accepting insults.

I have no idea what information you need. Bottom line im internet stupid. It would be easier if I just gave you the website or this computer. I know its a free addon, but because I am not very smart at this I wont mind paying you...

Yes I know others have got this thing working, the addons not stupid I am, and thats why I cant get it to work. I have followed the guide 4 times, re-installed it 6 times and still cant get it to work.

That's fine, frustration can bring a poor choice of words and I have been guilty of doing same in my life, just keep that in mind when dealing with other folks around here as they are more likely to ignore you than tell you their position on it.

This is all I have. If I uncheck the box for UTC then the clock goes to 00000000. I wanted the clock to count down for everyone, regardless to Jan 1st 2015 based on -8gmt. So everyone had the same time. Here is a screen shot of the page. I dont have options to edit UTC if unchecked.
