Ads Manager by Siropu

Ads Manager by Siropu [Paid] 1.26.9

No permission to buy (€49.99)
I have selected Advertise for the usergroup in ptions.

I had presumed the advertiser would automatically go in this group (as secondary) when they create an ad, but this doesn't seem to be happening. How is this supposed to work?

I'm a bit confused by the process of selling an ad with bank transfer as payment option. I have entered my bank details in Options.

This is what happens when I test this

  • Advertiser creates ad - buys 1000 views
  • Ad is pending.
  • Admin approves & pending invoice is created for correct amount
  • Advertiser receives notification of pending invoice
  • Advertiser ticks invoice, clicks on bank transfer payment option and is shown bank details
  • Advertiser makes transfer
  • Admin receives transfer and activates ad (cannot do this under View details, must do it by editing ad and switch to "active")

Results:

  • Ad shows (expected)
  • Invoice is still pending ?
  • How to make it appear paid?
  • Ad does not have the View limit that purchaser paid for?

Do they have an active ad that's running?

All you have to do is go to the invoice and manually change the status from pending to completed. This will process the invoice and take care of everything.

yes

Aha, I was expecting a "view details link" as with Ads

Thanks, got it now.

However there is still the issue, the ad does not get the view limit paid for. It defaults back to 0.

Obviously I can manually change this, but should it not automatically take on the View limit as it would with an invoice paid via other payment methods, e.g. paypal

I will look into the advertiser group issue.
As for the view limit, I think that's because you activated the ad manually.

Yes, if you don't manually changed the ad status. When you change the invoice status from pending to completed, the ad will get activated and updated accordingly. Since you manually changed the ad status, it broke the process.

I might need to create a guide to clear the confusion.

The expiring notification is great, but unless the advertisier is logged in they just get an error page when clicking on extend function with no indication as to why.

Would it be possible for unlogged in extension function link to redirect to a page explaining to the advertiser that they must be logged in?

EDIT: Aha, just noticed it's not a generic error page, it is in fact a phrase associated with Ads Manager so I can edit the phrase. :)

Siropu, we love the plugin, is there any way to only display adverts if they're on a resource within a certain category, similar to how you can do that with nodes?

I wonder why RM doesn't have page criteria options like Gallery has. I will see what I can do about that.

Siropu -- thanks for a great add-on, it is working perfectly here! It really is the best ad manager for XF.

One request I'd really like to make -- the only weakness I see in the package is the statistics reporting.

It would be a huge help if you could create an "export stats to CSV" or "Export stats to Excel" for each ad, and for each package. This would make creating custom reports around the ads much, much easier. Right now we're using SQL to query the siropu_ads_manager_stats_daily table to extract the data. This is less than ideal :)

thanks!

You can see advanced stats for each ad/package in ACP. Why exporting it?

Because we need to make charts out of the data for clients -- daily, weekly, and monthly. Or to put on a chart the relative proportion of each ad served, etc...

I know it is impossible for you to cover every statistics use case, which is why the ability to easily export these stats would probably be useful (right now, we're querying the tables directly, doing joins to get all the ads in each package, etc... it is a little messy!)

thanks

I like this idea. I also make spreadsheets of stats and would find this useful

Advertisers can see their own stats. It's not displayed as a chart though.. I will see what I can do about exporting data.
As for "takeover", well see.

I see in features its written that setting display order is possible but can you set display order as 1, 2, 3?
See screenshot.
