Idid view the beta version - the light box feature is awesome, will there be a "clickable" picture option, in other words, click the image to go to the next image?
It already does that in the lightbox, as well as has arrows to move to previous /next images. Arrow keys on your keyboard can also be used. Of course, there have to be other images in that category or album for this to function.Idid view the beta version - the light box feature is awesome, will there be a "clickable" picture option, in other words, click the image to go to the next image?
This is not entirely correct.XMG 2.0 will not create images of different sizes but will use CSS to resize the images to make them fit onto the page.
With my old forum (Vbulletin) I had never had an issue with disc space and my forum has thousand of images, the difference, I think is the option to resize all images automatically with the old VB gallery (add on of course in 3.8) , I have been forced to use large picture sizes with Xengallery to accommodate members who are not digitally savvy with resizing images, many complaints and frustration to where, in fact, I hardly get members even using my current gallery...This is not entirely correct.
XMG does create multiple copies of the images in some cases.
For example each image could have two versions. The first would be the original unedited image, the second would be the watermarked version. Of course if you don't use the watermarking feature, then only one version of the image would be stored.

Overall disk space could be lower, though, than other Gallery products. You can restrict the file size on a per usergroup basis. You can also impose maximum image width/heights on a per usergroup basis. For example if you decide that the maximum width of photos in your gallery should be 1024 x 768 then during upload, the image would be resized so it is a maximum of those dimensions.
I do have to say, though, if you are hitting disk space limits, maybe you should pay for the amount of disk space you need rather than switching gallery products. All you're doing is limiting your own scope for expansion if you're already hitting disk space limits.
That's awesome.if you don't use the watermarking feature, then only one version of the image would be stored.
Hey guys,
Can you please drop me a PM here or at http://xenmediagallery.com if you own a Xen Media Gallery license, have access to [XFR] User Albums and you are willing to test out some import stuff.
Thanks,
Chris
Heh we are adding xenporta support finally to UI.XI prefer you using the default xenforo theme thanks.
I prefer the default because my theme is based on the default theme.Heh we are adding xenporta support finally to UI.X![]()
That's all I need to know.Today I completed the first importer. I will be able to re-use it for XenGallery and Xen Medio.
It might come sooner than you'd think. It probably won't be 2.0. But very soon after.Looking forward to a vB 4 importer. We have two sites now that can't move to xenForo until we can carry the albums over.
