✔️ Prizma 1.5.3 Released

Prizma 1.5.3 — fixes for 1.5.2 (licence verification, portrait watermark, upload size picker)
Fixed — reported by customers

  • "Verify my licence" crashed with Undefined constant SODIUM_CRYPTO_SIGN_PUBLICKEYBYTES on servers without the PHP sodium extension. The 1.4.6 fix had been lost when 1.5.0 regenerated the licence client from a shared template; the fix now lives in that template and a release check runs the client on a PHP process without sodium...

✔️ Prizma 1.5.4 Released 👻

Prizma 1.5.4 — watermark settings could not be saved, album layout switcher, and a broad privacy and reliability pass

Fixed — reported by customers

  • The "Prizma: Uploads and files" options page could not be saved once a watermark had been uploaded: every save returned "Oops! We ran into some problems" with nothing in the server error log. The watermark setting stored the mark's full internal path (data://prizma/watermark/mark-….webp) in a visible field, so...

Hello XenForo users, :giggle:

I’ve recently received some questions about Prizma’s mobile capabilities, so I’d like to take a moment to clarify how mobile support has been approached from the very beginning.

Prizma was designed from day one with mobile platforms and tablets in mind. Mobile compatibility was never treated as an afterthought. In fact, compatibility testing has even been carried out on several smart TV models.

Today, Prizma is fully compatible with mobile phones, tablets, handheld gaming devices, and game consoles.

That said, I believe it is important to be realistic about compatibility. As a solo developer, I simply cannot test every phone, tablet, handheld device, and console model available on the market.

Different hardware models, operating system versions, screen sizes, browsers, and even browser-specific behaviors can occasionally lead to unexpected compatibility issues.

This is where your feedback becomes extremely valuable.

If you encounter a compatibility problem on your device, you are always welcome to open a new support topic in the support forums. I’ll be happy to investigate it, evaluate the situation, and, whenever possible, improve Prizma to provide better support for that particular device or environment.

You can also test Prizma live on your mobile device before purchasing.

Simply visit my forum at https://erkanshi.com/forum and experience Prizma directly from your phone or tablet.

I believe the best way to understand how Prizma behaves on mobile is not through a list of technical specifications, but by simply opening it and trying it yourself.

Here are some screenshots showcasing Prizma’s mobile capabilities:

Hello! I am still watching and considering Prizma for my community that will publish expert videos, webinar recordings, supplier media, etc.. I really like this visual direction and the broader media concept behind Prizma. It already goes far beyond a traditional image gallery.

At the same time, I feel that some of the familiar “community glue” from a classic XenForo Media Gallery workflow may still be missing or needs clarification.

For a community, the important workflow is not only:

upload media → display it nicely
but also:
expert or company → media item → forum discussion → replies → member/company profile → widgets, curated listings..
It's cool Prizma already supports embedding a media item in a forum post, which is useful. But I would be very interested in deeper optional integration, such as:
  • Linking a media item to one specific XenForo discussion thread.
  • Automatically creating a discussion thread when an editor publishes a video, webinar recording or supplier presentation. (Hi, XFMG)
  • Showing the related discussion thread on the media page, or using the forum thread as the single discussion area instead of separate media comments.
  • A public author/uploader filter and a dedicated page showing all media from a member.
  • Filtering media by author role or user group, for example Verified Experts, Suppliers, Service Providers or Partner Companies.
  • Combining author, media type, category, tags and date filters.
  • Displaying selected media automatically in member profiles, company/business profiles, XenForo widgets, forum home pages and event pages.
  • A proper media picker in the XenForo editor, with search and filtering, instead of relying only on copying and pasting URLs.
These features matter because a professional community often needs media to become part of a wider content architecture, rather than remain a standalone gallery.

I understand that some of this may be intended for separate add-ons, custom integrations or future releases. I am not asking for everything to be built immediately, just my thoughts..

If Prizma can support this kind of connection between media, discussions, authors, users, events, it could become a a really new and very strong media foundation for communities, not only a beautiful modern gallery.

Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this! 🙏

You’ve clearly put a lot of thought into these ideas, and honestly, I love it. You’ve mentioned quite a few things that I had never even considered before, which is exactly the kind of feedback I enjoy receiving. 😄

Interestingly, I already have plans for one or two separate add-ons that would cover some of the ideas you mentioned. The media ↔ forum thread relationship was also something I had considered, although it wasn’t on my immediate roadmap. The upcoming XenForo 2.4 update is one of the reasons I’m being a little cautious with some of the larger architectural changes at the moment. I’d rather see how 2.4 evolves first before committing Prizma to anything that could potentially need to be redesigned later.

I’ll go through your other suggestions in detail tomorrow and think about how they could fit naturally into Prizma. Some of these ideas could actually open up some very interesting possibilities for the future.

I really enjoy this kind of feedback because it helps me look at Prizma from perspectives I wouldn’t necessarily have on my own. I don’t want Prizma to simply become a bigger media gallery with more buttons — I want it to evolve into something that genuinely integrates with and adds value to the XenForo ecosystem.

So thank you again! And please, if you come up with any other unusual, crazy, or creative ideas, don’t hesitate to share them. 😄 Even if something sounds a little ambitious at first, I’d much rather hear the idea and think about how it could work than dismiss it outright.

I really appreciate it! 🙏 @VMgrid

Prizma 1.5.4.2 (includes 1.5.4.1)

Important fix
  • Opening an item's edit dialog, closing it without saving, and opening it again on the same page left every field blank. Retyping the title and saving then wrote those empty values over the item, deleting its description and tags and removing the adult (NSFW) flag, with no warning. The edit dialog is no longer cleared on close and is fetched fresh from the server on every open. This had been present since 1.0.0 and was...
