Now you tell meHehe, I'm not a programmer
I might give 10 a try, but I don't see anything groundbreaking between it and Windows 7 or 8 so far.
People keep using words like "Groundbreaking"Indeed. But how is that "groundbreaking"?
For as much as people criticize them....Live tiles was a new and innovative(groundbreaking) feature for both Windows Phone and Windows 8.
I hate to use XF as an example but there is really nothing groundbreaking about XF that most other software presently can't do for the most part but the software itself is great and does what it does well and does various tasks better than its competitors.
"Live Tiles" just reminds me of widgets on an Android phone. Around since I first had a Motorola Droid... I hardly see that as "groundbreaking".
May I ask where it was ever stated that it was groundbreaking?
I see that brought up all the time, but I cannot recall anyone actually saying it.
i of course don't expect you to see or understand my opinion.
I've read plenty of your posts/drama/tantrums to fully understand your opinion. No worries on that one.
Enjoy your Friday.
Windows 10 (WindowsNT 6.4) is still Vista (WindowsNT 6.0)I believe that every single digit number will make people remember Windows 8 (which was a disaster) so that's why they went with 10 instead of 9 as a way to say everyone something like "hey! this is something completely new, it doesn't have anything to do with Windows 8 nor is a continuation of that"
They are. They're currently following the Apple OSX "upgrade" model (free).
OSX is based off of UNIX, free is part of the deal. MS shouldn't follow this model. MS actually have created their own kernel. You have to wonder how they'll keep that up.
LinuxYou know the OS is bad when the biggest features are:
- Multiple desktops
- Copy/Paste support in command prompt
- Reintroduction of features previously removed
Unless I'm missing something, other than the really dumb idea to scale 1 OS across 3 device types, that's it isnt it? I've not seen any other notable features.
I agree!Yup I kinda feel the same, along with the idea that Microsoft is not Apple and they should not be trying to emulate anything they do, product or philosophy (trying to convert desktop users to mobile users by changing the desktop up is a slap in the face no go.).
LOL!It is funny how ALT tab window switching is only now a thing on Windows though, I remember using that functionality on Linux Mint 5.
UNIX wasn't free. OS X is POSIX-compliant but not quite the same as UNIX. Apple developed their own kernel, Darwin/XNU. Parts are based off of BSD, which in-turn is based off of UNIX.OSX is based off of UNIX, free is part of the deal. MS shouldn't follow this model. MS actually have created their own kernel.
