I thought it did exactly the same thing as 1.1 ?

I agree. Then we would also have a RSS feed for new started threads.

Having thought about it some more - if it's "thread" that is making the term seem exclusive only to brand new threads (as opposed to replies), what about New posts - as it can imply new threads too; and might be an easier convention for members to comprehend?

You can already do that.

I would love to have a side/RSS feed with only the new threads created. This shows new threads and replies in 'old' threads, sorted by date and time.
