I'm ignoring the negative comments and going back to singing.....

They aren't it's just as bad. The HMRC have explicitly said NOT to collect VAT.

I believe they are supposed to charge extra to cover the VAT until they have an ID #. But they are not allowed to invoice it as VAT until they have that ID. But that's out of my area of expertise as live in the States
