Shades of Grey

Shades of Grey v2.2.10

No permission to download
Although this goes beyond the scope of support for this style, here is a fix for ya:

I appreciate it but I think this problem would occur in long quoted info or similar situations with content needing scrollbars within a message.

Also of note, I'm not sure if you can put your style info in something other than the extra.less. I have other changes in extra.less and when I import your styles it resets the extra.less so my other mods in extra.less are gone. Maybe something is not merging as it should, not sure. I'll have to watch this.

No sir, I don't believe it would. This is being controlled by the "Code" add-on. If you disable this addon and refresh your page, you will see the scrollbar.

Lastly, I offer this style as is, and FREE of charge, however, feel free to make any changes to suit your needs.

What did you do to make the style switch from light to dark at the top of your forum? I would like to have that on my forum as well. Much easier for members to make the switch from there than trying to explain to them to go to the bottom and select a style.

Hey @Gator, everything is working fine on my site now, but I'd like to change all the scroll bars (main page and rich text editor) for a whiter gray since your default is a bit too dark and hard to see against the slightly darker scroll background IMHO.

What color attributes must I change to edit the scroll bar color?

By the way, if others and yourself agree, it would be nice if this change was a global one done at your base style for future releases instead of having to customize it on our side.

Cheers,

This Style is working great for me, thank you!
A question... is there a "light" version, I mean significantly lighter than shades of blue?

Just go to

Just go to Appearance > Templates edits and search for the file "extra.less" you will see the scrollbar section and you can change the colors to your liking.

Not at the moment. :)

Yes, go to Appearance > Templates and search for "extra.less" open the template and you will see the scrollbar section. Make changes to meet your taste.

Thanks, changed @Accent1 color palette to rgb(80,80,80) and it looks great, nothing broken that I've noticed so far.

Cheers!

So... to install update the style, I must install it as a "child" so it will inherit from the previous version? And I do this with every update? Making a new generation every time? (Sorry for the basic question.)
Apologies in advance, I am going to add on to this question. I have modified some of the color schemes, so if I follow the above while doing the update, I will be able to maintain the color schema accordingly?

And thanks @Gator for a great theme and the work you do to keep it active :)

I tried saving my changes to the original theme as an archive and xml. Then I downloaded the update, installed it as the parent, and uploaded my "changed version" as the child, and activated it as the default, while also deactivating the updated upload version. It still defaults to the original, even to the point it changes my site logo. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

sypralout... I'm attempting to do the same thing. I think you have done it in the wrong order.
Assuming you have a customized parent that you want to upgrade
1) Export the customized parent style as an archive (I think this will drag along pictures, etc., that are not in the xml).
2) Upload the customized style as a child of the parent. Afterwards click on it to edit it's name & description to identify it as changed or customized.
3) Set the child as the default and user selectable.
4) Import the updated version of shades of grey as the parent (use: "overwrite style"), replacing the original. (The old child will stay with your customizations)
