The add-on reinstalls the old YouTube media site if it's uninstalled. If you don't see YouTube videos you might have interrupted the uninstall procedure. Try reinstalling the add-on and uninstalling it normally.

Do note that media sites that are not supported by XenForo will not be supported after you uninstall the add-on.

I am trying to install this add-on and we get a huge page of error messages starting with:

ErrorException: [E_WARNING] file_put_contents(/var/www/html/tribemagazine.com/board/internal_data/code_cache/templates/l1/s0/public/_media_site_embed_abcnews.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in src/vendor/league/flysystem/src/Adapter/Local.php at line 200

How can we install this addon?

It's not an error specific to this add-on. The error message indicates that the templating engine cannot write the new files to the cache directory. It's usually due to incorrect file permissions. You can hammer that particular nail by setting everything in your internal_data directory to chmod 0777 but if you ask in the general support forum, someone may have a more targeted solution.

It seems like a permissions thing but I don't know what to do. We uploaded the add-on manually, and then tried to install it via admin cp.

It usually is but that depends on your environment. I can't say because I have virtually no experience with modern shared hosting.

This is also at the top of our forum now:

I don't know what the official procedure to recover from an incomplete installation is. I generally uninstall the add-on and reinstall it but you should definitely ask in the XenForo support forum because that's a common issue and they surely know what's the best way to proceed forward.

What do I uninstall now that it is in there? Since it didn't install and yet is somehow still there causing errors what do I have to delete to take it off our system now? As well, I asked in the support forum and they said to ask you (this is in the error message).

I can look into it but does Metacritic offer something to embed? I'm not familiar with the site and I don't see an option to embed either the scores or the trailers.

@JoshyPHP @Russ There seems to be a conflict between PixelExit's Nova style and the setting of this addon to turn off branding.
If I turn off branding, then the whole footer bar disappears. This doesn't happen on the default style.

If you turn it off? The link at the bottom is a template modification; When branding is enabled, the template is modified. When branding is disabled, the template is not modified. If there was an issue I'd expect it to be when branding is on.

Yeah, that one is too weird to guess but I don't have that style on my test board to reproduce.

You should try enabling the branding in the add-on's options then go to Template Modification and manually disable it.
