If you don't use this option, its not needed to upgrade it for now. 1.0.9 is coming within next 1 or 2 days. and the package size will be less than 200kb then (now is 5mb - because of Gifs).

Is it just me or is the news ticker animation not smooth?

If you mean those Gifs, its not like that.
Its just because I wanted to make Small size Gifs. So you see it a little slow.
Animations are all smooth. Soon I will provide you a test part in our site.
But if you need it, you can be sure about the quality and go and get it.

If I get it right, then you can open this template: dad_news_ticker_Navtabs
And change "News Ticker" to anything you want.

In that case you would need to edit a php file.
But, I'll make it as a phrase in next version. I'll update the add-on within an hour for this.
