GoodForNothing Classifieds [Paid] [Deleted]

What a giant slap in the face for all those of us who believed in him to deliver a product, and sided with him when he promised us he'd stand by it till it was done. I even stood by him when the doubters warned us this would happen.

I believed in him, his skills speak for themselves. Now, I understand him taking a few months out for school/personal reasons... but to return and just leave all of us in the dark like this is unacceptable.

I put $200 into crowdfunding this, and for the most part I thought it was a good investment. He was one of the most friendly, approachable devs on Xenforo. He took on board all of our requests and up till now delivered an amazing beta/alpha product which quite honestly was just a few yards short of the finish line... with the user feedback system being one of the only things holding this back from prime time. To abandon the project at this stage would be disgraceful.

He can redeem himself RIGHT now by just coming on here and just posting a little update. Even if it was to just say he's so busy with other commitments but is still committed to finishing this project, he'd be A-OK in my books. Those of us who backed him to deliver will have some hope of receiving a finished product at least.

@Mr. Goodie2Shoes the ball is in your court. Posting a little update isn't going to hurt, sure you'll get some grief from a few but people like me who believe in your product will still just be glad you've got plans to finish it. Come on buddy, you've done all that groundwork and have a near-final product, don't abandon it now.

C'mon @Mr. Goodie2Shoes just give us something please! There isn't really another addon that fits exactly what I need quite like this one. I actually feel comfortable putting it up live one a particular site, as long as I have assurance that you are going to finish it off and then commit to supporting it. There's no hole that you can't dig yourself out of. Jaxel did it.

I asked him on FB if he want to sell his addons to another developer and he replied saying that he is going to release an update in some days. I saw some screenshots about the feedback system embedded in it.

But with the other one addon coming up I don't know if I will choose GFN's one...

frankly, I don't know why he still has sale privileges here.
It's not like he committed a crime or was doing bad practices like Briv. All he did was leave and abandon his add-on. I'm sure he wasn't the first and i'm sure he isn't going to be the last.

add on's - plural --- and those addons, which he charged for, will all probably be useless when xf 2.0 comes out.

This.
I'm only using his image compressor but it may or may not continue to work after each XF upgrade. I know XF doesn't have the bandwidth to vet addon devs but it seems like a 'Report as abandoned' option in the RM might be helpful in closing some of these addon threads.

To be fair, it seems like all add ons from all developers are likely to be useless as far as 2.0 is concerned. It seems like all of us will be rewriting or depreciating our add ons at that point.

This is a major addon that significantly affects the feature set of a site, and currently it doesn't appear he will be returning to update it so those with the addon will either have to forgo this addon they paid for or forgo xf 2.0.

I do like the look of GFN's alot more than anything else out there... the addon looks gorgeous atm... I just hope he comes back to update it otherwise I will have no choice but to use other classified addons.

So am I to assume this is dead? Sent a PM some time ago, got no response and now reading latest review and these posts. Seems the dev has lost interest?

If the dev was in the USA he could be sued if he's truly abandoned it by choice. There's an additional risk of dealing with someone outside your country.

It was a waste of money unfortunately for me. I purchased it and it was never fully developed as I had expected.

Hello everyone.

I know that I am now just giving out me reasons for going offline and I am not pointing my fingers to anyone or anything because I know I am at fault here and I don't expect to forgive me. But like I said I don't have any plans to abandon my add-ons in the near or distant future and I haven't.

My first initial blackout was due to the fact that the cell-phone that I used as a Wi-Fi hotspot to connect to the internet broke. And I lost my only medium of contacting you guys. I ordered a cheap phone via mail but then it turned out that my SIM card also died along with my phone. And there was no way to get a replacement at that moment. Out of desperation I gave up on working for the next 1.5 months.

After coming back home on December I resumed my work. The trader rating module was complete a mess. I lost my touch, forgot everything about my own add-on. So I went through all the nooks and crannies and that took me some time. And before long it was New Years. I was too afraid to come in front of you guys empty handed. But the thing that I created wasn't something I could boast. The design wasn't that good and I re-created the module from scratch. And a week ago I finished it and showcased the new look with @Kintaro and told him I will be coming back on February 1st. But then I remembered: I didn't even add support for Featured Classifieds that have been made over-due for so long! Yesterday I finished working on the version which I am quite happy with.

The latest version (1.0.0 RC1) will be distributed to all my current customers tomorrow noon (my time) and hopefully you guys will like it. :)

And to finish: here are some screenshots of the trader rating module. :)
