Content Ratings

Content Ratings [Paid] 2.8.5

No permission to buy ($35.00)
@Xon i'm working my way back through the thread so i apologize if this has been asked already, but is there a way to get the default smiley set to include all the current xenforo smilies instead of just the six or seven currently under the default set?

@Rambro on the Content Rating Type page, under the dropdown menu "..." there is an import Smiles option. You can then import arbitary number of Smilies.

I don't recommend >250 or so rating types, since that will runs into MySQL limits on the number of columns due to the design.

When i go to import smilies all i see is the smilies i had from XF v1. None of the XF2 smilies are in the list.

The Smilie importer grabs whatever Smilies are registered with XenForo and displays a form to import them into a category.

Can you open a ticket on my site; https://atelieraphelion.com as I will probably need to get some screenshots or login to see what is happening for you

Something to cut-down spam with large number of ratings/reactions to a piece of content. :)

(Grouping by day is optional)

Should be released soon, just going through some final testing.

Hi @Xon I was considering buying this add-on instead of using [th] reactions.

I have a few questions about it. First I like that you can customize the reaction layout to be separated from the "like" reaction. My questions are simple. Is there a page on the profile to show counts? Also how is the default like handler organized? If I'm able to disable neutral and negative ratings and only use positive rating counts in the postbit also then I wouldn't need to import the ratings into the like handler as I could just use counts to replace the like handler completely which would then give me a real ability to replace "likes". Also can I only use positive counts in the postbit?. Also is there a count area in notable members or do you plan on releasing one in the future?

To be honest I wouldn't mind it if there weren't counts on the notable members page for the simple reason your able to show the like button separated from the other ratings emojis. I could simply have "likes" in the notable members page and in the postbit and make a separate area in the postbit for the rating counts. Otherwise I could join likes and ratings all together in one single rating postbit counter and then have the counts on the notable members page.

The reason I am asking all these questions is I want to buy it for my new site if it's what I'm looking for. I just need to know more and have these few questions answered. Thanks for your help @Xon

Is there a page on the profile to show counts
Yes; https://xf2.nixfifty.com/members/xon.10/

1524824436273.webp

Each number is a clickable link which points to a screen like; https://xf2.nixfifty.com/members/xon.10/ratings
1524824502759.webp

Each category (ie positive/neutral/negative) can have a "Show this category in user rating count summaries" option to controls if that category shows up in the postbit/profile rating count.

(Note; the up arrow allows you to collapse that section)

Also how is the default like handler organized?
These is a global option for setting which rating to use as the XF Like. These counts are pushed into the XF Like fields so the standard Like notable members stuff still works.

Also is there a count area in notable members or do you plan on releasing one in the future?
Planned for the future, but I'm currently working on migrating other add-ons from XF1 to XF2.

No that is not normal, I'll have time to look into it on Monday. Not going to be available this weekend

Thanks.
I understood : setup should be on the same bay.
In facts, i have two setup on different folders / database, so importer can't find the table.
  • 'forumasus.dark_postrating_ratings' doesn't exist
  • src/XF/Db/AbstractStatement.php:212

I'll add some sanity checks to give a usable error messages then, makes sense if it can't find the table

can we get the rating that a thread gets most, shown in the threadlist?
a rating system in xenforo 1 had this. dont remember the exact name
This already exists.

You must enable the global "Show ratings on thread list " option, and then in style properties adjust the following settings as required;
  • "Sort Ratings in thread list" (default true)
  • "Limit Ratings in thread list" (default 1)

I've just purchased this addon and upgraded my forum, as I have been hanging out for an update to xenforo 2 for the original ratings addon, yet it never came.

I'm rather disappointed with this addon. I was expecting an automatic import of XF1 Post Ratings, yet when I go to import (one at a time) the ratings I added manually (as I redid the whole rating system so used custom icons) are not there. Just smileys, and I never used smileys for my ratings.

I was expecting all the ratings I had setup to be brought across with an automated import system, as well as the total count for each user based on what they have accumulated over the years for each rating.

Is this possible? As it's going to take me a very long time to set this up again and I don't recall how I had it setup — I was expecting it to import the data from XF1 Post Ratings addon.

My members are going to be very dissipointed to lose their total count of ratings. I had it setup very carefully and paid for icons to include with the ratings.

Neither TH's Reactions or this add-on automatically import ratings. The product description clearly states you need to manually import them using the provided importer or configures rating types. The provided importer migrates configuration and ratings all at once. And doesn't even support doing them one-by-one.

It sounds like you just imported Smilies as Ratings, and not the old post rating data. Did you delete the old Post Rating legacy add-on?

Please open a ticket on my site and provide admincp access so I can inspect to see what you have or haven't done before I can offer further support.

Where is the "provided importer" located? I'm unable to find it.

I haven't imported anything yet.

No, I left it there, I just disabled it before upgrading.

I will see what your response is about this importer which I can't seem to find before doing that.

The addon description lists:
  • Import from XF1 Post Ratings
and
  • XF1 "Post Ratings" importer
I interpreted this as meaning I could click on something, and it would automatically import what I had setup previously with the former addon.

Thanks for your quick response.

Just to be clear, I have made no configuration changes or setup any ratings. I haven't added the default rating types.

Based on looking through this thread, I understood the only way to import was to click on the . . . drop down and select "Important Smilies" and that would show the custom ratings I had setup, but all it shows is smilies and I didn't use smilies for my ratings, they were all custom created with custom icons I uploaded.

Is this all the "XF1 Post Ratings importer" is? It doesn't bring over user totals for each custom rating that was setup? You have to add each one on an individual basis and start the count at 0?

Please see the FAQ entry:
Q. How to use the Post Rating Importer
A. The sets for using the importer are:
  1. Before upgrading XenForo 1, leave Post Rating installed
  2. Upgrade to XenForo 2
  3. Install this add-on
  4. Navigate to Tools -> Import data
  5. Select Post Ratings from the list
  6. Select the type of data to import
    1. Rating type categories (ie negative/positive/neutral)
    2. Rating Types (note; Some may be imported with on title, recommend manually fixing up)
  7. Enter an a table name in the "importer log table name" field, this is required.
  8. Importing will start, this will slowly import & rebuild ratings as posts are processed.
  9. See the next question for legacy data.
