XF 2.2 Attchment URL switches to attachment link only

You can see here that the image's link leads to the attachment source and not to the URL I have repeatedly indicated.

The bb code is incorrect.

To link an image to a URL in this example you would use:

[URL='https://www.namm.org/news/articles/introducing-namm-believe-music-week'][IMG]https://vi-control.net/community/attachments/namm-png.43298/[/IMG][/URL]

Sorry for the delay in responding, Brogan.

1- I insert an image using the Attach files function.

2- Still in Edit mode, I click on the image and a menu appears underneath. I click on LINK and paste the URL in it.






3- However, after inserting and saving, the image does not have a link but to the attachment.



What am I missing? Inserting links should be automatically coded, yes?
