@FeelingPeckish, When you approve an ad, an invoice will be generated and the user will have to complete the payment within the set time. The slot will be reserved until the user makes the payment. If the user doesn't make the payment, the invoice will be cancelled and the slot becomes available again.

How would I place an ad to show underneath the first post of every thread?

Select position "After Post x Container (Can be used with "Item ID" option)" and set "Item ID" option (Found in Position Criteria tab) set to 1.

How does an advertiser actually pay? I have created a test ad, and approved it, but how does it get paid (I have stripe enabled)

I can see the invoice but nothing happens when I click on pay with Stripe.

I have enabled advertising permissions for unregistered, but they are unable to see the Your Ad Here Link.

However they can see the footer navigation link, and create an ad.

How do I get it so they can see the Your Ad here link under an existing ad with available slots?

Have you checked the checkbox next to the invoice name? Advertiser can pay multiple invoices at the same time and can choose which and how to pay.

Yes, it works wit paypal but not Stripe.

However I see an issue. In the Stripe settings it asks for a Live key and an API key.

I don't have an API key, only a live key and a secret key

I just found out if I have notifications ticked, then all admins get notifications, whether or not they have Admanager ticked in their user options. I think if they don't have Ad manager permissions, they should not get notifications.

@ENF, Add-on uses the native XF mail function and from what I see in the code, it checks to see if enableMail is enabled.

Just a follow-up on this from earlier... So, as we all know, sometimes you just have to look at things with a fresh pair of eyes.

After I saw this thread I went to check my config file and sure enough, I had it set with 'false' instead of false.
Lesson learned, ha!

I'm confused about auto generated invoices.

My test user created an ad, I then approved it but no invoice was generated.

If I click on "Create New Invoice" I see this:

NOTE: For ads submitted by advertisers invoices are generated automatically when you approve the ads.

How did you approved the ad? You have to click on the "View Details" option of the ad and approve or reject from there.

Ah, I approved it by editing and choosing Approved at the bottom of the page.

A couple of questions regarding views

• How are views counted if an ad is below the fold, ie if the ad is on the page that a user is looking at, but they don't scroll down far enough to see the ad? Is that still counted as a view?
• If ads rotate while being viewed, ie ad1 is visible followed by ad2 then back to ad 1, does ad1 get two views or one view?

It depends on the "View Count Method" setting in "Ads Manager [General]". If you use "When ad is viewed", then the view is counted when the ad is visible on the screen.
In rotation only one view is counted.
