Count your self fortunate that it will be so easy.

Look at other threads of people getting ready for 2.0 and that's budgeting for the Dev costs to move their custom software over.

I just moved my site to XF in august.

Don't worry bro most people won't make the switch over for quite a while. Scroll up and you'll see that it will go live on this site in Q4 but likely won't be released in beta until after that, then addons and styles will need updates, so unless you are running a vanilla XF install most people probably won't roll over into 2.0 until after Q1 2017 I'm guessing, beside those that like to live on the bleeding edge

I was going to keep using the default style, but the owner of another fish forum told me that my layout "sucks balls" so I installed a free style, but I am going to be installing a better style soon.

You don't need XenForo 2. Forget it. You need to focus on growing your site. It's perfectly fine as it is. Nobody is going to decide to join your site because you move to XF 2.

I know my site won't fail if I don't have XF2, but I wanna upgrade.

You really need to get off the upgrade kick.

The moment you upgrade your styles and any add-ons you're using will stop working. And no designer/developer is going to rush conversion of their styles or add-ons for you no matter how much you bug them.

But how long will it take then? 6 months? A year? I won't be able to sleep unless my site is running XF 2.0

There's nothing wrong with your current style - it actually looks very smart and attractive - and why do you care what the owner of a competing site thinks?

I depends on the designer/developer.

I have the order things will be updated set already. Free add-ons from me will be the last to be updated. So for me, you could be looking at a year. Who knows?

He isn't a competing site owner. I am not talking about my current style. I am talking about when I was using the default style. I am going to be moving to a style that is better than my current style soon.

I would argue that SEO has mostly stayed the same and anything above and beyond what we do already is mostly micro optimisations. Nothing substantial, therefore, has changed here.

As ever, if you have specific ideas about what needs to change those suggestions should be made in the Suggestions forum.

Not if you are planning on upgrading to 2.0 immediately when it comes out. Otherwise your site will be back to "sucking balls".
