Xen Notices [Deleted]

Hi Chris,

Having an issue where I'm not able to edit an existing notification properly. I am able to change the title, but not the text within it.

Would you be able to look into this for me?

Thanks,

I'm having the same issue, I had to disable the Rich Text Editor :(

Any fix?

Is there a list of benefits/features anywhere that highlights what this addon gives you over the standard Notices?

Many Thanks

@Chris Deeming

As you know I mentioned in these posts about an issue with {birthdays} displaying notifications for January birthdays in October.

Today I've discovered another issue with {birthdays} - it doesn't fully respect a user's privacy settings. This morning I had a pop-up telling me it was someone's birthday. Due to the previous issue, I checked to see if their birthday was indeed today, 18th October rather than 18th January. The date was correct but I noticed that the user has unticked both the day and month as well as the year of birth in their privacy settings. The notification is not only telling me it's their birthday but also their age!

I've noticed for other birthdays where the user has unticked the year of birth but allowed the day and month to be displayed, notifications display correctly, telling me it's their birthday but not how old they are.

I don't suppose there is a 'quick fix' to these issues with {birthdays} (apart from not using it, of course)? If the fix is going to take a bit longer, do you have any idea roughly when an update to Notifications will be out? I know you are busy with Xen Media Gallery at the moment though and that has priority.

@Chris Deeming I'm assuming that this isn't going to be a quick fix then for {birthdays}? If this is the case then fair enough, I know you're working to get XMG 1.3 out, so will this mean we're looking at the new year for a fix on this? Just wondering so I can let my users know how long the {birthdays} notification will be unavailable.

Thanks for this add on. I have been thinking about getting it but I didn't know if I really wanted it that bad. Noticed it on another site. At first I was thinking that it might be driving me crazy but all I would have to do is sign up and it would go away. So I bought it. Now I can't say it has anything to do with it I installed it two days ago. Since then I have had a member sign up each day. One didn't post but he did look around for 10 mins which I feel is good.

The second signed up and has been a posting machine. If I can get at least a couple sign ups a week I would be really happy.

Thanks for the addon. Can You do so that you can connect multiple sound files that are played sequentially themselves and the ability for the user to mute or enable and save the settings?

Hi Chris

How do I go about getting the latest version? I haven't received any emails about any upgrades for a while and having just moved to XF 1.2.2 I was wanting to get the latest. Currently have 1.5.1 installed.

Is there a way to separately align each notification?

I have 3, but they're going above the screen, so I want to move one to the left. Is this at all possible?

Liam

Keep up the great work Chris. I've just recently moved the XF default cookie guest notice from the default notices into your brilliant notifications.
Can someone tell me how to do this. Then I might buy this add-on. It looks useful!

@BassMan - Also (back again) :p that particular notice looks ugly, but I've designed many custom notifications or you can customise it yourself if your able to get it looking consistent to your site.

Here's a few custom notifications I've designed so you don't need to settle for the default look (I adore this add-on so it's worth telling you what can be done with it) it'll be the best £10 you spend and it's a bargain at the price for this add-on.

And there's also css3 gradient notifications I designed here http://www.bbsmiley.com/threads/css3-gradient-notifications.222/ though you can use the code as a base template and simply modify the css to other colours to suit your style.

Saves you trying to find all the custom notifications which are dotted throughout the pages.
