XF 1.5 Users Register with No Set Permissions

Just started testing Xenforo and my first test with user registration resulted in a user being placed in the Registered group, but having no permissions attached to their account.

The permissions are inherited from the Registered user group.

User specific permissions will only show if they are explicitly set for the user.

Use the permissions analyzer to see how it works.

So what would be the reason for this user getting "Insufficient Permission" errors if they are part of the registered group which has sufficient permissions? All this user was attempting to do was post a reply. Hmmm.. I'll see what happens if I create a non-admin account on my end.

It's worth checking the permission analyzer for the specific case you're testing to see the elements at play (and confirm they're working as you expect). It may also help show if there's an add-on interfering (such as by preventing permission rebuilds, which has happened).

Okay - well everything worked on my end when I went through and created an account. I'll keep an eye on it and see as other members join what happens. Still in early testing phase.
