UI.X 2

UI.X 2 [Paid] 2.3.7.0.0

No permission to buy ($59.50)
Try using Install & Upgrade instead; this tends to work more reliably.

Since I can’t seem to find anything about this on the Themehouse website, I am wondering what the deal is with upgrades? I first purchased the UIX 2 theme about 5 years ago or so. Since that time I have had no issue, upgrading it from the ACP.

I am wondering if there is a time limit on upgrades? For instance, if I paid for the theme once do I have to pay to renew the license every X amount of years in order to upgrade?

If you could clear this up for me, it would be great. Like I said, there’s nothing on the website that mentions this.

For paid themes and addons, yes - you do have to pay to renew annually.

As far as not being clear - The platform we're on right now is showing it's age, and updating some content areas have become more than an extra challenge due to requiring a legacy build process :) We've got plans to migrate to a new platform to get past these issues, however.

Okay, so that’s weird then because I’ve only ever paid once when I initially bought the theme and have never had a problem upgrading from the ACP since then. I guess that might be the issue I’m currently having! I’ll pay to renew my license and see if that solves my issue.

I agree though that the platform is showing its age. Maybe suggest that the designers put some verbiage in there on the themes and make it big and bold that the license is for one year. I honestly had no idea and I’m a little shocked I’ve been able to continue to get updates from the ACP for years now without ever renewing anything.

I’m going to purchase the theme again when I get home and see if that resolves my issue.

I've been reading up on this but is there a way to upload my own images / icons for each node?

I saw that it was done here.

Is there a way to upload my own images without ftp?

Is svg format preferred and is there a preferred resolution and size?

FWIW the ThemeHouse website is broken.

When I add the UI.X 2 theme to the shopping card and hit confirm order, all I get is error messages that say "Something is wrong".

There's effectively no way to purchase the theme ;)

Sometimes the server has hiccups; It appears to be working fine now, though. Can you confirm?
Still having issues on my end unfortunately. I keep seeing popups on the bottom of the page that say "Something went wrong :(" while page content is trying to load.

I use Firefox primarily and I'm still unable to log in. However, if I switch to Chrome logging in will initially fail but then work if I hit the login button a second time. Weird.

I know how that goes. Hopefully you guys get your platform issues worked out soon.

Unfortunately, node icons need to be uploaded somewhere manually in order to be used; if you're on XF cloud, you can upload them via the asset manager interface in your XF ACP (can't recall what it's called off the top of my head), and then copy the URL to them from that to be used in your custom icon styling.

As far as format/size, the world is your oyster! It all depends on the theme, but if you don't want to have to think about resolution then SVG is obviously the winner, but otherwise PNGs, JPGs, webp etc can all be used.

We're rebooting the server - check back in 15 and see if it's fixed.

so when I get the photo up on a server, where can I plug the url in?

Still seeing the same issues, unfortunately.
Yup, seeing them too on my end. We're investigating. Yet another reason we're going to migrate away from this old setup :D (EDIT: Should be working now)

You'll typically do it via custom CSS, and adding a class for the node icon (you can find more on that here - https://help.themehouse.com/docs/nodes/node-layout-and-styling). Note that in the documentation we reference material icon support, but that's only for 2.2, as XF 2.3's FA implementation is better.

Still no luck. The website is riddled with error after error and I'm unable to complete the checkout process.

I can see why you want to migrate from this setup!

Let me know when it's working again. I appreciate the help!
