Why not move away from having the Paid Subscription as being part of the core script and just have some bridge to activate some options by entering generated codes. I would still like to see a working cart created by the Developers and maybe have add-on to purchase...example: Shipping
  • Free Trial(time base) with limited access to board and options.
  • Purchase preselected option for regular 'User group Membership' (time, access, options)
  • Purchase additional option within that 'User group Membership'
  • You can only join a 'User group' or new 'User group' if you receive a generated code from Administrator.
  • Cart will have shop like features to sell tangible products.
Found one thread one this idea... Click Here -> xenoCart
I vote for other, if you did not know...

Users will have to register for both the blog and the forum.
The changes I make on the forum, don't reflect the blog header - such as a new page or new tab.
The content I make on the forum, can't be re-used in the blog, etc.
I can't design the forum, without constantly manually updating the blog, instead of it adapting to it.

I can think of at least 5 more reasons why I rather have 1 core product with addons like forum/blog/gallery/cms, that make 1 web site. Than installing 5 different products on a web site, having members register 5 times, having it all be inconsistant, such as how comments are made, or how features work, what permissions there are for usergroups, etc.
  1. User's WON'T have to register twice... Done right it'll be single registration and sign in.
  2. You shouldn't have duplicate your changes... We're planning on using a WP template like sandbox and setting it up to use the exact same CSS etc as XF.
  3. Reusing content from the forum in WP is an issue, and it'd be lovely to have an automated method to reuse content. Should be feasible with a plugin on the WP side to make it parse BBcode correctly etc?
  4. Can't design Forum without manually updating the blog... See #2 above, it really shouldn't be that complicated, and WP templates are super simple and easy to work with anyway. I kinda think you're doing a bit of molehill -> mountain here ;).
It's simply not that hard to integrate WP... Esp since XF and WP already share an editor (tinymce) for the consistent user experience. And with shared CSS and JQuery... ::shrug::

Wordpress bridge? Hmm? Even if CMS for XenForo will be released I won't be using it because wordpress for me is okay and I have all the features I need in it. Also I use a login-system called Loginza, it prevents users form registering at all, just 2 clicks :) Both on forum and blog.
How can you possibly know that now when you have no clue about the workings of a future XF CMS? It's very likely that a XF CMS will be much easier to work with, much more integrated, much more of a 'complete site builder' than Wordpress ever can be. Wordpress may be nice, but certainly not what I am looking for in a quality, fully featured and flexible CMS.

1. Blog
2. CMS
3. Downloads Manager
4. Gallery
5. Advertisement Manager

I've got the following demands ready, and if this involves kidnapping Mike and holding him for ransom then so be it ...

1. Gallery, seems to be a major issue for a number of people I'm talking to at the moment.

2. Download, purely personally requirement.

3. Other - Arcade, Reviews/Articles System

I wouldn't count on any of this stuff being developed for 2-3 years.

I think that's extraordinarily pessimistic.
For one thing the XF devs work exceptionally fast - they're only the best in the business. I'd estimate a year maximum, probably less if they started on one of the big requests like cms or gallery.
For another there are a whole lot of coders raring to go who will mod these and a lot of others. I'd expect cms gallery and blog mods to appear within 3 months. Plus many others. The devs are clearly willing to be a lot more supportive of mods than elsewhere which will make a big difference - the core code is built to accommodate mods.

I chose without hesitation CMS; it's the first thing users want to set up when launching a new community.
Some talks about Wordpress bridge; it's interesting if the site already existed, but it requires to make and maintain twice the style.
