[rellect] AdBlock Detector [Deleted]

(Analyzed myself)
That's how they are specifically for my groupset currently, after I setup the permissions right after installing. All groups have been set this way, and not one person has seen notifications.
May you please screenshot the settings page of the adblock detector (Home -> Options > [rellect] AdBlock Detector)?
If everything is fine there as well, I'm going to need admin access to your site to test few things.

Yea it's fine. Very strange.
You don't see the adblock notifications because it's not loaded in the page. Once we figure out why, it should be fine.
Usually it's permissions thing, but it seems to be fine in the screenshot.

May you please create a temporary admin account for me?
I'd like to check few things. Send me in private.

Just so everyone knows, this notice would be triggered if they have 'Disconnect' (Firefox Addon) running even if someone has AdBlock Disabled.

Anything that blocks ads will trigger the alert, not specifically the original AdBlock extension.
If you believe this is not the case and the alert is triggered incorrectly, let me know and I'll check that out.

@rellect Do you have any tips that I can tell my Ghostery users, who don't know how to turn off ad blocking in Ghostery?

Also, would it be possible to add an admincp option, to NOT detect Ghostery users?

Here's a sample customer service problem, user doesn't know why ads are blocked and why he's getting the detector alert:

Thanks for your prompt reply, especially considering the holiday time.
To clarify: Presently I see no ads in TalkBass, although within the last
month I certainly did, and for the past ten days - two weeks I have been
getting the text notice in the header whenever I log in.

I do not believe Ghostery is causing the problem since Ghostery is
designed
to block tracking and spyware and not advertisements. Besides, I
continued
to see Talkbass ads long after I downloaded Ghostery onto my system. Is
it
possible the mischief somehow is connected to TB's recent interface
change?

I have been all over Ghostery and everything else on my Toolbar and
cannot
source the problem. I have never loaded any sort of ad-blocking
program.

I can live with the text notice. What bothers me is that it gives the
TalkBass
admins the impression I am deliberately undercutting TB's revenue stream
by
blocking the ads. Not the case at all: no means, no motive, no
opportunity.

FWIW, I use Firefox to log into Talkbass.

Hey,
Ghostery adds an icon to the toolbar of firefox, clicking on that will display what is blocked and what is allowed.

Everything with the subheading 'Advertising' should be allowed.

Unfortunately I can't add an option to exclude Ghostery. There is no way to know what extensions the user is running.

Installed version 1.6.1b1 today and it is not working in IE 11 with Ad block plus installed. No notice at all is showing up. I tried it on two different computers, both running Windows 7.

It works fine in Firefox and Chrome with Ad Block Plus Installed. The notification is showing up just like it should.

It is enabled for all guests, so if it works you should see the notification.

Below is the Adblock Plus version in my IE 11:

Name: Adblock Plus for IE Browser Helper Object
Publisher: Eyeo GmbH
Type: Browser Helper Object
Architecture: 32-bit and 64-bit
Version: 1.3.0.0
File date: ‎Tuesday, ‎December ‎16, ‎2014, ‏‎2:53 PM
Date last accessed: ‎Today, ‎January ‎11, ‎2015, ‏‎4:33 PM
Class ID: {FFCB3198-32F3-4E8B-9539-4324694ED664}
Use count: 35
Block count: 1
File: AdblockPlus64.dll
Folder: C:\Program Files\Adblock Plus for IE

Since most of my users have IE for their web browser this is a major problem for me!

Also when running a "file health check" from the tools menu in Admin CP there were two errors concerning your add on. See the picture.

Do you run a beta version? That could be the reason for the file health warnings, as I don't update the file check in beta versions.

I installed adblock for IE, and I do see here something different of how it works. I've applied a fix.
Please use your download link to download v1.6.1, let me know if the issue is resolved.

Yes, it was 1.6.1b, I thought that was the one I was supposed to use.

I will download the latest version and get 1.6.1 and avoid beta versions in future.

Thank you!

@rellect any chance of incorporating these features:
1) If user has adblock on, they are moved to a new user group / have a criteria where we can promote the user if they are using adblocker.
2) assign user groups where the page does not fully load or looks very weird if the user is in the user group.
3) log which users are using adblocker and what type of adblocker

Thanks heaps. Great addon.

Hey,
In v2 it will be possible to add users to a different usergroup if they use adblock.
A tracking feature will also be available.

Thanks for the feedback

Hi

Just tried installing this and got this error. Not sure where I've gone wrong, all files have been uploaded.
