The other thing to check is that you haven’t configured the item as Force Hidden, and that it’s active and not hidden in your inventory.

So you haven't configured the item to change your user name's style, what exactly are you expecting it to apply? I'm confused.

I've tried multiple times. I've put in a color, i've selected "bold", i've tried about 10 times on different accounts and nothing changes.
You need to actually save that information then, since you showed me a screenshot of an item that has not been configured.

The issue was your setup. Your item was configured to be discarded immediately after configuring, which means it would never apply. Furthermore, the shop wasn't accessible to registered users, meaning any items purchased would not take effect because of those permissions.
After correcting both these misconfigurations, the item works as expected.
