Current Litigation

So the allegation is that I travelled to California on behalf of my employer, and while at my employer's offices, I was observed talking to other employees...

Frankly I'm surprised they didn't call the police when they saw that.
Oh that is definitely suspicious behavior there. Most of the coders I know would go out of their way to avoid having to talk to other employees. :p

A secret source from LA told me that the malicious malcontent Kier was talking to them in a foreign accent without the presence of socks or shoes.

IB will now file a complaint against its former employer (and itself) with OSHA to reclaim lost revenue that occurred with this act.

it's a joke, figuratively and literally.

Well it's no more ridiculous than what they've already done. Really.

To everyone who is ridiculing that IB staff photo, you probably don't want to see what the staff of your favorite online joint looks like. This world is the domain of the geek, the nerd and the social outcast. Every tech company on the face of the earth could post an equally ridiculous picture.

The sad fact is, everyone can't be movie-star-handsome like Kier and myself. We are the exception to the rule.

Q: How can you identify an extroverted software engineer?
A: They stare at your shoes while they're talking to you.

From personal experience, it always amazes me when a company turns on an individual, like IB has with Kier.

I had such an experience in the past, when a company fired myself and other people based on hearsay, not evidence, but because we (all three of us) were only employed there for a year, we didn't have a leg to stand on, legally.

Some of the reasons were like the taking a photo of a whiteboard, it was ludicrous.

In my case, I was told - You were witnessed plugging a device into a computer. (My headphones, for listening to music, something I'd done every day and had pre approval of)

They'll make up any rubbish, it's sad to see it's also prevailent in other companies, even large ones like IB.

But LOL@ the "talking to employees" complaint, hehe.

It might possibly be perceived by some as :

----

The last resort of the desperate who have chosen the wholly unprofessional, dishonourable and insidious path to attempt at whatever can be done to frustrate, what is perceived as - not only a serious buisness threat - but living proof at what can be achieved in a short time scale by capable decision makers who are also developers.

Which is the combination you need, no other, experienced full stack developers with passion and vision. Not money driven suits and abused pawns.

The alternative is to face off with the quality of product and service ....... so yes, this would be their only option it seems. To not do would be tantamount to admitting ineptitude across the board and would need a great deal of humility and awareness of situation and self to navigate out of.

Uncontrolled Ego would demand blame and finger pointing to save face and "prove" that it's only capable by illegal means, otherwise how haven't they done it.

---

Though that is just one possible and theoretical view of the situation .........

I had my day in the tank. I and several corporations were sued for $1,000,000+ damages by an individual that was injured on the job. I was a consultant to one of the companies. This was in a U. S. Federal Court, BTW.I had a very good lawyer that understood the technicalities of the case clearly. The process went through numerous hearings. I had to be at a couple, mostly the lawyer had to file some papers. They kept trying to settle with me dropping the amount each time. It finally got down to $100. I still refused to settle since my reputation was on the line. I didn't want to admit to any wrong doing. They finally released me from the case. I was only out $4500 for the lawyer in 1990s dollars. I knew at the time that the lawyer only charged me a fraction of his usual fees. He was a good guy and understood that I was just a worker bee trying to make a living.

This is the problem with an overly-litigious society - innocent people are made to spend thousands (or much, much more) just to prove their innocence. Bonkers.
It's not society. When there aren't sufficient checks against frivolous lawsuits, it affords the impression that every idiot in search of a windfall is given permission to take a chance in trying to fool a judge and jury about the truth of obvious matters.

To everyone who is ridiculing that IB staff photo,

Thanks for saying that, I was just about to say something along those lines, I think it is incredibly immature and inappropriate to be denigrating people for how they look/dress etc... sheez what is this a Valley Girl Convention!!!

These are not the people you should be shaking your pitchforks and burning brands at people.. look how unhappy the poor things are :(

I dunno, Adrian looks pretty happy. He's probably thinking, "Ha, I'm only 26 and I'm the Senior Operations Manager!" :p
