May be @SimonV take a look on this problem also. When i disabled one of these addons, no conflicts present. But both addons need me.

Is it possible to have the featured threads just show on the Main Forum Page. I guess thats the Forum List

Yes, you can specify where they appear in Featured Thread options in the ACP.

It's not something I can fix in my add-on as it relates to code running in that add-on.

If you don't have the page enabled then the RSS feed isn't available.

Got it. I enabled the page. Featured Threads What do I have to do to keep the Title text from being overlaid over the article text?

That appears to be a problem with your style.

The default style (and many custom styles) don't do that: CTA Featured Threads & Portal

Check for outdated templates.
If there are none then you will need to check and adjust the style properties.
If there are no modified style properties then you will need to try and determine what in your style is causing it.

I'm still interested in CTA Featured Threads but the only thing holding me back is the lack of categories - that it falls just short of a portal/article display system. It has the functionality I need - just shy of categories.

With Tagging coming in XF 1.5, I should be able to implement (in effect) tag-based categories. If I limit tag usage to only article categories (or reserve certain tags), I can turn CTA Featured Threads into a portal/article/blog system. Am I missing something here or will Tags provide the functionality needed for those of us who want a portal/article manager system?

Categories have been mentioned once or twice, but even with content tagging introduced in XF, I still fail to see how it would work or what the structure/format would be.
I actually had another look at it earlier today but I couldn't really come up with a useful concept/implementation.

As such, I don't currently have any plans to implement any sort of categorisation.
