Indexing categories can be very difficult, and if you do not do it right you can be penalized, so...the best strategy could be.


1 -first studying what could be the names of their categories. ( create categories with related keywords )

Example. UFO is ok, --- UFO Sightings --- is Good ----- UFO Sightings Around The World // OR/// reported UFO sightings -- Is perfect.


Alien Abduction, Copulation & Hybridization, --- it's too much..... better is /// Alien contact with humans, Then in description include ( Alien Abduction, Copulation & Hybridization ) in a natural way, talk to your users.



try to order everything in regions or countries with tags and **** it.. so in the end.. you could have a lot more juice.

UFO Sightings Around The World (main)
I_____ ufo sightings in argentina <--- have search result

I_____ ufo sightings in india <--- have search result

I_____ ufo sightings in costa rica / Mexico / etc <--- have search result but you must do a search



2 -Mark as not index the categories, until waiting to have enough content or publications every day.

3 - look for some type of addons that helps you link internally automatically.

3.1 - Link the least important pages to the most important ones. ( take advantage of the most forgotten pages of your site to link them to the most important pages, so is from bad ages to good pages and not the opposite )

So for example, an article with little content link to articles (Not much, two link is enough) with more words, through related words between both.

4 - Beware of "no-fallow" // "Fallow"

No-fallow is for websites inferior to yours. and fallow for higher pages at least (at least in the beginning, in the future, you can give some juice to other websites )

1 - You should not use the name of your forum here (like username).. type on google joyfreak. I think it's not good
continued when you change you username, you know why let your users read all this ?
 
At the moment from me searching at my location using a keyword phrase related to my forum i'm on page 2 not that it's helping!

I'm getting 10-12 new users per day since migrating to Xenforo. This is more than I was getting with SMF (probably 2-4 a day). Active users is about 500 daily, 1500 monthly. I have 13 years of content migrated over, so its not a new forum.

It's pretty good for such a specialist subject. Aviation itself is a niche interest, aircraft that never flew is a niche of a niche :)
 
Its easy to have a good Google search position when you are the only site with specific information. SEO for your forum becomes much harder when the search terms you want to attract match ten thousand websites. Why should yours be at the top?

True, Plus the sites that have been around for a long, long time and have a massive user base, some people just won't want to entertain other related new sites.

Well today it seems 'Motoring Forums UK' from my location is on the 1st page, Not bad considering site is under a month old!
