SWAT, really? There's playful (eg, naming your teams after cereals -- hello RackSpace), but...

http://www.ovh.com/us/solutions/support.xml

There is..

FASS (First Aid Specialist Squad) : The first responders

The FASS agents know how to apply first aid on OVH.com products. They don't robotically read out a series of pre-written troubleshooting, they don't ask unecessary questions.
They are enthusiastic sysadmins who use OVH.com products on a daily basis.
They are communicative people who will stay in contact with you, keeping you updated concerning anything that has to do with your account and your requests, and who will coordinate communication between the different parties of a same situation.

SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) : The tactical team

The SWAT technicians intervene in all delicate situations. Continuously trained to deal with the most unlikely scenarios, these sysadmins are known for their ability to analyze complexe matters and find solutions within short delays.
When a SWAT team member makes a move, the FASS agent remains online to ensure efficient communication between all parties. The customer then has a guarantee that one agent is working on his issues while the other one constantly informs him of the status of the situation.

DERT (Datacenter Emergency Response Team) : The digital firemen

The DERT team maintains a permanent presence in the data center, always near the servers.
They work with powerful tools that indicate any hardware component weakness before it even fails. This lets them proactively intervene and replace the concerned parts.
Night and day, theyre able to intervene quickly in OVH.com bays, which are built and optimised to facilitate express interventions. They know OVH.com servers better than anyone, having participated in the conception and production.

Imagine real SWAT operating like that. In case of a potential situation, cut power to the whole city, take your time and go on a donut run, belittle your customers while doing so, and finally, after the hostages have been buried and the crooks got away, come out and claim victory.

Gotta love the French... And while I'm aware Quebec != France, they're spare-French.

:D

:ROFLMAO: Priceless

Thanks, it was using the wrong server path in the config file as our hard drive structure is different on the new servers. All working now ;)

OK. I'm frustrated. I asked about this nicely Mike on May 14, 2013 when you were still on OVH.

Backing up the database seems impossible. Whatever you've done to limit scrips in cPanel and on the server, please undo it.

Noticed the screen shots via cpanel, phpmyadmin, and ssh

They're all different sizes and done minutes a part. They range from 20 bytes, 355 Mb, 381 MB

I tried using MySQLDumper and that seems to be unable to complete. You're settings are preventing anyone from getting a complete database dump.

I just dumped and downloaded a 750mb database no problem. IIRC, you surf behind a lot of proxies, that might be the issue. As explained to you already, there is no setting "to undo", settings are changed to do hourly remote backups via R1Soft.

Please in the future though, update your ticket. This thread was put here to inform clients of the outage that don't follow us on Twitter, but this thread is not intended as a support thread

I'm not trying to cause you trouble Mike, but a proxy has nothing to do with SSH. That command is sent to your server and processed remotely, not via my connection.

Note, the SSH dump is smaller than the dump done in phpMyAdmin. And cPanel & phpMyAdmin isn't behind any proxy.

I would happily continue this in ticket support, if I thought I'd get a reply other than telling me to use Ssh or phpMyAdmin, when clearly they're not working.

Meh, no thanks, just looks like a WHMCS copy cat. WHMCS is #1 in the industry and now a cPanel company, I'll stick with them.

Didnt read the description then :) Far from a 'WHMCS copy cat' it's a replacement for the mess that WHMCS is ;)
