XF Development - xf falling apart?

I have complete faith and respect for Kier, Ashley, and Mike (K.A.M.). And I completely understand their need for keeping a very low profile. I also can respect and sympathize that some of them maybe going through some person problems.

Kier, Ashley, and Mike (K.A.M.) have together produced a wonderful product, XenForo, in which is stable, fast, and secure. Which has a wonderful framework for us all to love and enjoy.

I really wish more people here would try to be more understanding and more respectful about the current status of Kier, Ashley, and Mike (K.A.M.). Be thankful for what we currently have and understand that this "dark time", as some of you have called it, is only temporary.

I do fully agree that there has been more trolling and negativity from some people here. And I do believe some people really should learn to manage themselves and not depend so much on the staff to babysit them.

With this in mind... We could use less threads like this one, questioning the management and development of XenForo. Which I believe has and is doing a wonderful job given the circumstances.

This is my opinion and I stand by it.

The locking of threads was not because these types of discussions are not permitted, but rather, certain individuals keep derailing the thread and discussion for everyone else.

That's my point: prevent derailing by dealing with the people that cause it, leave the thread open. Short term this means more moderating, long term it's better for the community.

Please, do me a favor and don't attack this as nonsense. I have known about this for some time as I'm friends with him on FB and I have had a recent conversation with one of the principles here that lead me to believe that some of the speculation seen in the above thread does indeed have legs. So...there you have it. What say you Mr.Darby? Is the company line we've been being fed here lately have any basis in truth?

Guess that's what many concern members are waiting for but you know as usual such questions like this will be ignored as usual ! I think if they had any intention of answering such questions they would have by now .

Many "pro xenforo" users have received warnings in recent weeks for attacking other members. However the most prolific users are usually "anti xenforo" and go out of their way to cause trouble, so end up eating the brunt by their own doings.

Maybe you would care to explain why a post or two of mine was deleted for simply giving truthful information to a potential customer in the pre-sales forum?

I make a habit of giving truthful information to potential customers. I've never had my posts removed. Just sayin'.

To the best of my knowledge Jake has been particularly busy as of late, and I am currently trying to run 2 companies as my business partner was taken into hospital with heart problems 2 weeks ago so my time has been thin to say the least, additionaly as it is coming to the end of the Koi keeping season I have to co-ordinate the purcahses for next years Koi stock for multiple companies (which are figures well into the hundreds of thousands of pounds) so unfortunately something has to give and it is the time I can spend on XenForo.

I can relate to heart issues. My young brother has been through 4 open heart surgery ops (major) Treated at Leicester glenfield hospital heart specialist born with transposition of the great arteries and they are trying to get him to get a stent placed before his 18th he's 12 now I'm fighting against him having it until he's 18 so I know about priories and sympathize with that. I'm there with him every other week.

Perhaps this is even more reason if staff don't really have the time, to step down and have people on staff that do have time? I wouldn't imagine it's a good idea (while the community is falling apart) that inactive staff are the best choice since you have the luxury of not receiving the verbal abuse or accusations. Infact, better still, ask Mike & Kier to take 5 minutes out of their stressful day and give the loyal customers some truth and honest answers and fix this broken community.

Stop making allowances for them I say.

BTW did you read brogans post? have anything to say about that because it sounds to me the chain of command are not being entirely truthful.

We don't know the real truth. It could be internal rifts, staff leaving, personal problems, health issues. Whatever it is, it doesn't sound pleasant. Maybe what the poor guy needs is a holiday. Or are we really saying now that they're not entitled to a break away. Maybe Mike shouldn't have gone on his honeymoon?

Ridiculous to start casting judgement just because he's booked a holiday.

Yeah I've posted some stuff in presales too and have always kept it unbiased and sane. and left personal feelings and situations out of them, and all my posts are still there.

When there is big issue going around my company/site i want to be there for my members /customers take five minutes out of my life and try to see if i can come up with some excuse ! but that's not happening here . Just compare last year and this year ...people were with them back then when case started devs were around trying to answer question but out of no where things have gone completely silent here .

Well...didn't take too long for this to get dramatic. I can only speak as a XenForo customer and addon developer. I have no interest in rumors and conspiracy theories. I just want to hear from the core development team and have them tell me I'm not wasting my time waiting on this product to resume activity.

Would I be interested in hearing this "secretive" information that specific members like Brogan are privy to? Sure, but if he doesn't want to tell us then that's his prerogative and we have to respect that. My hope is that KAM eventually do open their mouths or...better yet login to XenForo.com.

What worries me most is that 'Brogan' said something on another forum to the effect of: if XF members knew what had happened, they would be very angry. When I first took a look at the XF forums, Brogan was the main man and staunchly defended the software, acting in an unpaid capacity in a role that KAM should have fulfilled.

Something has clearly happened, so no news is better than coming clean.

I really want XF to succeed, along with all the other users here... but we can't keep supporting a company that knowingly keeps us in the dark. Please KAM, if you read this thread, just come clean and let us know what the situation is (we're still waiting on the answers thread).

Brogan was a very dedicated and hard working member of this community, who helped a lot of people.

With this said....

His statement was trollish and even disrespectful to Kier, Ashley, and Mike (K.A.M.). To so blindly leave such a blank statement suggesting some sort of negativity, but without filling in any details, was a clear setup to cause doubt.

Even if Brogan had some sort of inside knowledge, which I do seriously doubt, it was a clear sign of disrespect and trust to come out here and make such statements, while leaving (stepping down) as he did.

I do not believe Kier, Ashley, and Mike (K.A.M.) owes him anything except the thank you he already got for the time he did freely serve XenForo.

I am being realistic.

I'm not commenting on the current state of affairs. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing that they should be coming here to do something.

What I am saying is no one should be persecuting the poor bloke for going on holiday. No one has the right to.

The discussion should be entirely about Xenforo. While i strongly disagree that KAM's personal lives should be included into this discussion , i can empathise customers who questions Kier's facebook messages. But still i personally think they should not be the main subject.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend's health. I truly do hope things work out for the best.

Given the circumstances, I believe you, Jake, and Lawrence are doing the best you can. And I really do not believe anyone can ask more from you.
