XF 2.1 The Board URL option does not match the site URL configured for your license

I just installed a fresh copy of XF 2.1 in the subfolder of my domain (with a valid license) and I'm getting this:

To my valid license URL + subfolder name. If I change it to only the license URL it does not work either.

We only check the hostname part so as long as it's customizexf.com on your license and customizexf.com as your board URL (e.g. https://customizexf.com/test) then it should be fine.

If you were using a sub-domain, then it wouldn't verify, e.g. test.customizexf.com or www.customizexf.com because that makes the hostname portion different.

Actually, I needed to remove the www in front of my domain and now it works. Not sure why...

www.customizexf.com is a different hostname to customizexf.com.

I am using my test installation on a different web account. So it is not possible to not use a subdomain. So do I. And regarding to the posts above, this will not work?
I think it is a big risk, to have test installation on same webspace. So it would be nice to give your customer a chance to handle test installation with subdomain.

Having the same issue.
Recently bought HTTPS license {multi domain}, updated it in the Xenforo license and in the Basic Board Information but keep having the same error.
Also tried to uncheck "Only check for stable upgrades" but that stayed the same.

I got exactly the same URL as for the forum w/ subdomain.

Hmm, I too have this 'issue' but have two licences so am unsure which belongs to which..
I've made sure anything else (such as www.) is excluded, but will it pick up https against, say for example, myshinysite.com ?
How often is it checked, as I changed it only about 10 mins ago and it may need longer to sort.
