Ive created a forum called "Directory" and hidden it from view, which I have linked the mod to.
When I look in my node tree - I just see the forums I have on my board, nothing new.

Hi everyone, got a couple of questions and hoping someone may be able to help!
Is it possible to
1) Remove the avatar part shown in the image above
2) Instead of showing avatar, show a thumbnail of an attached image
If so, would anyone be able to give me some pointers on how to do it please
Last question is more of a suggestion really! Would it be possible to add a rating system, one to five stars in whcih members can click to rate?

Another quick question!
Ive added around about 89 places under the directory takeaway, however it dosent seem to show them all within the directory because my maximum threads per page is set to 20. Is there anyway of just changing this for the directory so all entries show on one page?
Also is it possible to set a default display order for the directory, such as alphabetical?

Yes, it's just under the node tree (don't worry, you're not the 1st to not find this straight away

So, log in to the ACP, click the applications tab and on the left hand side you'll see an option to "Display Directory Tree"
Within there, you will be able to update / add / delete the Dirctory nodes
Alternatively, just navigate to here:
yourforum.com/admin.php?directory/
This is a bug.... something I need to fix (the page navigation is missing at the bottom of the page) << Will fix next build

Sounds like a good enhancement, I'll add this to the to-do list... (but there are other enhancements I would like to put in first

This really is a superb mod. I run a forum for my local community and this mod is better then anything I could ever imagine!
In relation to the image, if the avatar thumbnail could display the logo image if one is uploaded, I think would be superb! Would make it super easy for people to navigate if they were looking for a company in the list.
One more suggestion for you to consider, maybe adding an option for people to rate the listing? 1 to 5 stars or something similar.
Anyway, great job, look forward to seeing what other enhancements you have planned!

If no Youtube video is added, the logo box defaults to the location of the youtube box.
Ive got the youtube option selected as for some options I wish to add videos, but others dont need that option.
Failing that, would you be able to advise which template I would need to look in to swap the boxes around, so the logo is at the top and the youtube box is underneath.

When people click on the business link in the directory, make it open in a new window so they dont get taken away from the forum.
Option to add custom blocks. These could be used to add a facebook like box for the business/RSS feed from the business/adsense...I suppose the list is endless if its custom!

I know I have mentioned it before - and it's in the to-do list in one form - but being able to order the listings by location - which in the USA would be a ZIP field or a State field or both, would be great!
This would effectively make this a dealer or service directory on a national basis (at least in the USA)....
A really simple version might be to force a Prefix on entry (with state or canadian prov) and then sort by prefix.
Such a system would work for smaller directories - many products and services have from 30 to 100 national dealers.....large systems would need something better, like a google map where they could put a zip and then see all the dealers show up, with each ballon then leading to the directory link of the dealer or service.

I'm fairly certain it does this, but you'll need to log out to see it.

The option to add the logo/youtube is always present for people that can modify the listing (mod/admin/listing owner)
Since it already does this, I dont think you need to edit the template, but if you want to re-arrange the map section of the review page (+ youtube/logo/info)
The template is: sfdirectory_map_view
look for: <xen:if is="{$allowYoutube}">
and: <xen:if is="{$allowLogo}">
Already there, got to the XenKingDir options,
within the options, there are 2 custom categories
Custom Category Title A (the title that will be displayed on the listing... I've used "Geographical Area(s) Covered" for A, and "opening hours" for Custom Category Title B
Custom Field Name A1 ( the title that will be seen when added the field)
== > Each custom category can have 4 rows (Field Name A1-> A4)... for things liks addresses / multiple rows of text
I'm not sure everyone would want this, but I could add it add as an option
This will take a bit of time (which I haven't had much off lately)... but it is a good enhancement. I'm about to have lots more time to do this sort of thing in a few weeks, so If I can defer and look at this again it definitely something I would like to add
Thanks! I am a very patient man......my old CMS still has a version of this I put together, so it is working fine.....I just want to eventually move as much as possible to XF for a single login.
Is there a way of displaying the Field names under the two catagories - so the information entered doesn't all merge together ? or adding a line between each field ?
Also the logo area stretches which distorts the image ? can this be altered to be a fixed size ?
