same here. I tested it with a normal registered user account.

There should be also a hint in form of a text line, that if a user has not uploaded any photo into the gallery yet, that the very first photo will be used to create his gallery-profile album.

Is there planned a simpel selection (drop down? ) in the redactor editor to chose one album or picture from my pictures unless to type in the bbcode by hand?

I really like how fast this addon is expanded and how many importers there are. I pick up some licenses and might switch to this gallery.
How does this addon handle the import of photopost member albums and vbulletin profile albums? These member albums have no specific global category. So where do these end up?
I have tens of thousands images in member categories, so there is no way that I can manually move these to the correct category.

I can not tell you about vb profile albums, because I switched already last yer from vb to XF. I just threw the vb albums away. But there might be an official vb-XF importscript nowadays, that does import them.

But I did the Photopost Pro with XF sync importscript into XG.

You will not have any problems with the PhotoPost Pro Albums. Everything is imported in albums. The so called term "categories" does not exist beforehand in XG. Only after the import, the PP categories appear in XG. You handle everything easily in the ACP of XF after the import.

You go to Applications/XenGallery/Manage Albums

There you pick the few PP categories you had in PP, which are now called Albums. Then you click on the "move" button and move them to the appropriate category name.

I guess you have now not more than 20-30 categories in PP, right? so these are the only ones you have to move one by one.

After that, there is in the same screen a tab called "uncategorized albums". Click on this.There are all your tenthousends different albums. Click on select all and move them with one click in the old PP category "member galleries". This like 10 seconds. That's it.
 
Yes, there seems to be a vb albums importer as well :) I have 2200 vb profile albums. These user albums all have unique names.

I currently have 70 global categories in Photopost Pro. Plus 6.000 user albums in MemberGalleries category (showmembers.php)
Its good to know that the 70 global categories will be imported to XG albums.
But I am not sure I understand what happens to the Photopost Pro MemberGalleries. I understand all 10.000 member albums can be moved to the Member Galleries category. But what happens with it after that? Will new uploads of a member go to that user its album? Will the member be able to find their album again? Does the member its album appear on his profile?
Sorry for so many questions. I'm trying to understand how it works. Thanks.

Category does not have icon. Could you explain me what you do you want to change?

It is already in there. 5 latest inserted photos already in album's data. It would show up in Newsfeed or search result.

It would not ignore PhotoPost's categories. All categories would be imported, but categories which contains images would be imported as albums. So PhotoPost's categories would become 2 types in XenGallery: Categories and Albums.

When users upload new photos they could create new albums or upload to existing albums (their albums). You should try the demo the see the basic of it.

We already have the share button which contains all of this.

I meant the category image, If I select in the dropdown menu a category, it shows me one image. Only if I click on this image, I will see all other images within that category. You have the URL, if I am too tired to explain it well enough.

Maybe I am too tired now but I find it also confusing that after the PP import, the category image I just described is labelled with "admin". So a user might think that only the admin uploaded into this category.

I found a third thing: some images do not have a username, other do. What could be the reaon for this?

I need to go to bed now...

They are albums, not the images. Each album has its own cover. You could set any photo within an album to be album cover. (Go to photo, click on "Make album cover").

It is not label, it is owner of album. Categories in Photopost was created by admin so it would belong to admin when converted to XenGallery

A photo or an album must have username. Maybe you are confusing between photo's grid item and album's grid item.

Is it possible or planned to do the following:

Create a category "user albums", in which each user can create a (only one) category (or is automatically created with the user name), in which he then may invest all of its albums.
And more categories to the "user albums" parallel category, such as. "Animals", "plant", "technology", etc. - where each user then only can upload pictures but can not create albums.
So that you can disconnect the user from the general albums frames something ...

Alternatively it would be possible to specify in the ACP streams that can then be selected by the users. So in addition to being able to create their own.
But one way or images directly to a selected high zuladen stream. That would go well.

An "Add Photo" button in the User Profile tab "Photos" would certainly not bad. ;)
 
I'm tested comments last night: ALL fine with comments and permission rights in version 1.0.10! I checked out. @sonnb, please, fix it. :)
