Social Connect (for Facebook and Twitter) [Deleted]

That would be consider as spam :D
That's your opinion, but that doesn't make it so.
If a person replies to a thread, there's no reason it shouldn't be socialized. That's the point to having things socialized, to draw traffic, to encourage individuals to post at the site. I could see if it's a thread that gets replies every 30 seconds, but not so much with most threads (every few minutes).

It also slow's your posting.
Then we shouldn't use it at all then. I mean, if it 'slows your posting', then we shouldn't use it then, clearly!

I'm getting an odd problem with the Social Connect JavsScript - when replying to a profile post comment, which I thought wasn't tracked by Social Connect anyway, pressing Enter submits the inline-mod/profile-post/switch action instead of adding a line break, which happens without the mod.

Any ideas as to what is going on here? :)

Edit: Pardon me, I'm using the latest version of Social Connect and XenForo 1.2.1.

Yes I can confirm this.

This line:
Code:
<script src="js/socialconnect/char_count.js?_v=633b2ae8"></script>
Should not be loaded for the guest.

Actually they are very similar in a couple of ways.

The first difference is that xen socialise has options that allow posts to be created on your own site's social network feeds when they make posts in certain forums. This is permission controlled and can be done in specific forums.

The first similarity is that coincidentally Mr.Goodie2Shoes coded this functionality before he even knew I had already done it this the cross over :p

Both add ons allow your forum members to post their Xenforo status updates to their own Facebook or Twitter.

In addition to that my add on can also post to their own Facebook and twitter when a user creates a thread or gets awarded a trophy.

And I think that's about it for differences.

Sorry to ask you again but before purchasing i just want to confirm is :

Will this addon post all threads links created in forum on my website facebook/twitter page too like it used to happens in Xensocialize ?

Or it will on member to member basis and will be posted on their facebook page ?

Thanks in advance.

I like this, it seems to work well. Only thing I am wondering... Is it possible to have the created thread title pushed out rather than the post?

I'm having a problem with the plugin sharing all my users posts onto my twitter account too? I know this isn't how it's supposed to work but it's happening for some reason. www.twitter.com/TeachingHQ

Is it also possible to include hashtags in the posts?

My add-on doesn't do that. You must have another add-on installed. What add-ons do you have installed?

Hi Chris,

I've got an error with Social Connect add-on. The twitter part of the connection doesn't seems to load properly.
I went through the process of creating the API-Key on twitter as described, and filled in the API Key on the Social Connect
Setting. When I tried to connect to my twitter on the front end .. it just jump to this link and stop loading. I notice it's because the
https:// is not there.. when I typed in the https:// myself. it seems to run just fine

Would love for this to be updated fir 1.3

Also, would be great if it would auto follow/like the forum's official Twitter and Facebook pages once members link their social media accounts
