I don't use a domain so I guess "localhost" if you can do that, otherwise you can send me the URL of the page on your site that displays that video, if I can access the page without an account.

Otherwise, make sure you have enabled the default Vimeo embed in the add-on's options.

hey i was wondering what you think about support for something like d.tube?
if its possible or makes sense even...seems like some things are continuing to change in this type of direction, i think it will only become more popular...

I have considered DTube before and while the site seems really nice from a technical point of view it does appear to be stagnant and not very useful to the mainstream audience. That's why I don't intend to add support for it in the foreseeable future but I will reconsider if the situation changes.

I'm about to publish an update that features a slightly different lazy loader. It will be more efficient on average than the current implementation and will not prevent the embedded sites from accessing their referrer, which should fix the issue with domain-restricted videos.

If you feel slightly adventurous, you can try the release candidate attached below. I expect the public release to be identical to this one but I still want to spend a little time reviewing the new lazy loader. Do note that the PHP requirements have been bumped to PHP 7.1 and the add-on will produce an error on PHP 5.

It's theoretically possible but I need to think about it. Every option has an associated development/maintenance cost so I have to add new ones sparringly. Note that even if the add-on doesn't have an option for it, it's possible to modify the Gfycat template using a template modification.

Literally everything else, gfycat's default embed included, disables autoplay. It's not just a question of 'please disable this', it's a question of "Am I going to have to vet everything in this guy's addon in case someone decides to post porn to a front page status again?"

@Vekseid Gfycat was created as an alternative to GIFs—which play automatically—so disabling autoplay would defeat that purpose and cause more users to report it as an issue. There is already an option related to Gfycat to use a native player so any new option related to how the default behaviour would have to be implemented twice. That's what I mean by development and maintenance costs. If you want to ensure that this feature is added to this add-on, I can propose for you to sponsor its development. If you send me a direct message I will look into it asap.

Yeah, I noticed that earlier when I checked whether the native player's behaviour matched Gfycat's player's, which does autoplay GIFs/videos muted. The native player will be muted by default in the next update, already available in the 2.5.0 RC2 attachment above.

For some SOME reason Facebook videos no longer seem to function, this seems to have occurred in the last 12 hours or so.

I have tried it here on the Xenfo site as well, and a quick flash of the facebook message and no video.
All Some FB videos previously linked to on my website no longer display, so I'm thinking it's something at FB's end.



Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi Josh, the FB videos all work now for some strange reason.
Whatever it was seemed to affect video links that had been inserted last night and prior, any inserted today worked fine.
Now, when I've checked they are all once again displaying as intended - whatever it was seems to have been resolved.

I looked it up and right now the traffic stats are too low to be included by default. I'll reconsider if the site becomes particularly popular. In the meantime, you can create a custom media site using XenForo's interface.

Seems to be an issue on Reddit's side. Some browsers may be unable to load submissions in JavaScript until it gets fixed. I've updated the link to open in the current tab if left-clicked.

HI Joshy, thanks for all your hard work on this add-on! I've been using it for years now. I just upgraded to the newest version, and some users have reported receiving the following error when trying to open threads, or links to a specific post in a thread:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function s9e\MediaSites\Helper::filterIdentifier() in /var/www/html/src/addons/s9e/MediaSites/Renderer.php on line 209

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated, thanks!

That can happen if you uploaded the latest version of some files but not all. In this case, your version of Helper.php seems outdated. Make sure to reupload all files and it should fix it.

I uninstalled the add-on and completely removed the files from my server. I then re-downloaded the files from this site, uploaded the files again and re-enabled the add-on, and the error came back. Any ideas?
