Quick Thread by AddonsLab - Quick thread field on top of thread list with configurable messages.

Add-On Information
The add-on allows users to quickly post a thread in any forum. The interface and functionality are inspired by Thread Prompt available in XenForo 2.x versions.

You can find the most of the features from XenForo 2.x available in this add-on, such as:

  1. Admin Panel page to create thread prompts and assign them to different forums.
  2. Multiple prompts can be created for the same forum, in which case one of them is displayed randomly on each...

Very nice!
One thing: When one forgets to put a title in, the message content should not be deleted after the error notice. Same if prefix is mandatory.

Thank you for the report. Working on it right now and will release the fix soon.

The bug is fixed now.

Just let us know if you notice any other issues.

Thank you!

Thank you for fixing, the message stays now after an error. Since your prefixes are not mandatory I cannot check if that (forgetting to set prefix) works too.

Will the prefix selection box skipped (not visible), if there are no prefixes for that forum/node?

When typing in a title for the thread using your add-on, it would be good to show similar threads.

Yes, that would be great!

An optional button on home page allowing users to select the destination forum and open full Create Thread page for that forum.

Is there a demo for that, please? Didn't find it.
I use another add-on which renders call to action buttons on forum index page, media gallery, calender aso. Probably I am going to remove that add-on for yours on the forum pages. Can you add an admin option to have the input field (and the home page / index putton) visible for guests (even if being logged in is required to post a thread) to motive for registering? For my taste when clicking on the prefix or into the title input field the normal login dialog should popup.

Exactly. The screenshot attached shows the case without a prefix. Editor content will stay there on any type of submission error, server errors etc.

This is a planned feature and will be implemented soon.

We are open for suggestions and will implement most of features you have mentioned in your description. We will update the resource once any of the features are implemented.

Thank you!

Guests are able to post threads in my forum. does your addon support reCAPTCHA for guests?

No, as it is mentioned in add-on release notes, human verification support is planned to implement in upcoming releases. You can expect it implemented in coming 1-2 days.

Thank you!

is this default/similiar options on XF2 or i am wrong?

Yes, it is inspired by the implementation on XenForo 2.x and implements most of its features for now. It will be developed to include custom functionality as well, however, like integration with Similar Threads add-on, that was suggested and is already added to our task list etc.

Thank you!

AddonsLab updated Quick Thread by AddonsLab with a new update entry:

New features - guest posting and ReCaptcha support

The release implements full support for Human Verification System and guest posting.

If Unregistered usergroup has permission to post a thread, they will see the Quick Thread form as well and will be asked to enter their username to post a thread.

If ReCaptcha or any other Human Verification System is enabled no board, guests will need to pass the verification just like when posting using full Create Thread page.

We are planning to implement support for...

AddonsLab updated Quick Thread by AddonsLab with a new update entry:

Required tags and Similar Threads add-on support

In this version, we have fixed the support for forums, that have the minimum number of required tags specified in Admin Panel. In this case, quick thread form will show the field to input thread tags.

We also introduce support for Similar Threads add-on. Please note, that there are some compatibility issues with 5.1 version currently available, due to the non-standard usage of XenForo JavaScript API in this add-on....

The new version of Similar Threads was released by @AndyB , so feel free to install the version from there to get Similar Threads support for this add-on.

Thank you!

Any chance to have this quick thread form on the main page of forums? we could select any forum with a drop down menu like prefix selection menu.
