Pushing social networks too hard.

Floating/following stuff is one of those things that some webmasters think is cool to make their site look 'technologically advanced' and 'up to date' but it's actually very annoying and useless to most people.

I personally hate those floating boxes that follow you around I once tried to escape it by running to the kitchen to grab a beverage and noticed the same box following me. So annoying.

I once climbed into bed and (you guessed it) frigging register now box was lying in the bed waiting for me along with a side note "Nigerian Viagra helps boost sex life" written on the wall. So annoying.

Floating boxes... just say No!

Spam is known to drive forum admin's insane, even driving them off the web into concrete construction full time, hard labor, less hassles and very good for the soul.

Well, the other day I saw a commercial on TV from a mass merchandiser and they were giving coupons away on their Twitter page, so that should give you an idea on where it is going.

So instead of giving their website out on the TV commercial they were giving out their Twitter address.

I'm sure there must be a facebook group of floating boxes haters. If not, found one. I would _like_ it.

Oh wait, I would need a fb account then. Disregard it.

So would I .... so double disregard :D

We can form an "I hate floating boxes that stalk me" forum.. using xenforo.. of course!

Not a tab as such, just a list of FB contacts who have registered with XenForo.
Under Newest Members in the sidebar.

Please tell me there is someway to turn that crap off :(

On the subject of popups, boxes that chase you around the screen, and lathered llamas, I really really hate those insidious pop unders ....

If you had read the topic you would have known that it is entirely optional :p Now as punishment you have to write "I must read the topic fully before making a statement" on your foot!

Pop Ups.. Pop Unders...Pop Tarts... Pop divas All unhealthy and as annoying as all get out :)

Thought I'd just "pop" in and see how this thread is progressing. All fine. *waves goodbye*

If you don't provide a Facebook application ID, that 'crap' won't turn on in the first place.

Well that's a win win then for both facebook users and people who can't stand it :) BTW was not intending to say the feature in Xen is 'crap' more the other product ....

DF finding a marking pen :(

Jethro, I think many times you are misunderstood due to your Aussie lingo, for some of us, you folks are almost like reading Chinese, well not that bad, but many times I read your posts 4 or 5 times to get the gist of what you are saying, so don't feel bad.

I can tell you this, when you and the Brit's talk football (soccer for Americans) or Cricket, none of us understand a thing you all say !!
