Add-on Must I ask? Arcade

We could "secure" the project by using freelancer.com. I have an account there as it is, and it has ways to protect both the project owner as well as the freelancer. Basically it requires payment to be made into an escrow account. You can then define milestones upon which monies are to be released to the coder. I could easily set that up for an arcade project, with an advance payment, and then gradual other payments as the project progresses.

Current update, good news/bad news...

Bad news: Brian is still busy working on his mystery project & won't be available for a bit and my free time is still pretty much non-existent.

Good news: The coder that Cory Booth referred has started his research. The goal would be to use the vB4 version of v3 Arcade as as the basis for a basic port. There may be some features that do not make it into the first XF release. That is not a bad thing because while as much as the code & design of v3 Arcade will be brought over, the XF port will be getting a new name as, after the initial port, it will be treated as a stand-alone product and not a feature-for-feature clone of the vB version. In other words... v3 Arcade takes advantage as much as possible to use the vBulletin platform features while the XF port will go down it's own fork to, as time goes on, take advantage as much as possible to use the XenForo platform features but the very first release will based on the features of v3 Arcade. From what I can tell so far, the coder has a genuine interest in getting a XF arcade ported over and wants to get it done as much as everybody else does. To give a little insight into his frame of mind, one of his concerns was to make sure that the XF port of v3A would be available for free to the XF community. I had not even thought of doing anything otherwise, but the answer is yes, the licensing will be the same as the vB version. That means that a 100% totally free license would be available for everybody (free, *not* open source) with an optional cost for anybody who wants to remove the branding (which helps to cover our monthly costs). The fact that he had that as a concern was something I saw as a positive sign.

For the "tl;dr" crowd... work is slowly starting, stay tuned.

Awesome news. Please keep us posted. I'm getting excited because as soon is it is ready, I'm installing XF. If you need any beta testers, I'm in. Also, as always, I'll help support (financially) the mod.

Thanks for the update Kevin.

I'm in the same boat as Dodegeboard, but will probably end up migrating in advance. However, I do not have any problems helping out in any way by testing or contributing. If the branding free option will be around 50 USD, you will get at least one of those, with a promise that I'll probably end up buying at least one more.

Awesome news! I can patiently wait as long as I know it's something being worked on.

My offer of monetary support still stands.

Thank you!

I'm also in for a branding free option fee about $50-$60 - would also like to be a beta tester as a non-programmer.. Can also participate with a danish translate when time comes..

Found the forum (was posted on Twitter)...be among the first to sign up: www.XFArcade.com
:D And for that I have to think of some prize to send to you later. You are user #4, behind myself, the developer working on the XF arcade, and a test account. The site is pretty quiet as at the moment it is just a place where we can talk behind-the-scenes.

Well, I think I am at the top of the list wanting/waiting for this....so it's no surprise that I would find the forum. I search daily, for any new news.

I tried everything I could think of to find the arcade test script:

....and on and on....

to no avail.......:D

Check your cpanel logs - you will see hundreds of 404 errors.

You must have it hidden well!
