Microsoft Edge reporting password leak

I have a user who sent me a screen shot showing a Microsoft Edge alert saying their password had been leaked from one of my sites. Worth noting: It coincided with my having sent an email to all users, and the user reporting the leak alert was one of the mods accidentally deleted shortly before.

Is this a known issue? 12,000 users and only one reported the alert.

I'm assuming this is an over aggressive alert, but how can I be sure?

The user probably used the same password on your forum as a hacked site. The hacked user/password shows up in that known list.

tell your user to change their passwords everywhere

'As I understand it, Edge compares passwords used to passwords reported from hacked sites. If you use one of these passwords edge sends you an alert including the site you use that password. Is this correct?

Perhaps it's not Edge but that user's antivirus software.

It probably is Edge. They've had that feature since the early part of this year.
