It typed them correctly and sent it on its way.Yeah; I saw that feature was highlighted on the site...I'm curious as to how well it works, though, especially if I were to say names, etc. It would be a nice feature for sending a message on the fly, though (faster than typing it).

It's on Android, so you'd just use the Android Market.
From the app store, just like in apple, but you don't have to register a cc just to download free apps.
On the phone itself will be an icon to browse the Android app store from where you can download a lot of free apps like games & utilities. It is a bit different than the iOS app store paradigm.
As recommended on Twitter, I'd suggest getting as much 'hands-on' time with an Android phone first before making the switch from an iPhone. Try to do some of the same tasks that you do on a daily basis to get a feel for the differences.
