GoodForNothing Classifieds [Paid] [Deleted]

I installed RC5. It still did what it did before on packages, which is to show packages for EVERY group a member is a part of.
An active group member STILL sees a package for the ACTIVE group and the REGISTERED (basic) group.

Here's a showstopper for us pertaining to the bump system. Bump intervals inherit the higher/longer/more restrictive interval, whereas upgraded users should have a lower interval.

We've also noticed that when the Trading Profile Member Profile tab is selected not all tabs are displayed.

One suggestion which would really help is the ability to limit classified title edits (including a time limit option). My users have a habit of editing their ads and changing the title to SOLD, which wrecks havoc on our SEO.

I appreciate the frequent updates, keep up the good work!

Feature request - Ability for admins and mods (permission based of course) to mark a classified as sold or bought. The way I understand it now is that staff only has the ability to close. Also, pushing my luck I'm sure :p is to have an overlay pop up upon Marking as bought or sold to allow the input of final negotiated price so that the "Total Revenue Facilitated" is more accurate.

When an ad is marked sold it asks the person to enter The Other Party, and states that it is required. How do we make this optional?

+1, that's actually a bit of a show stopper for us too. I noticed when I was testing. Feedback should be 100% optional. @Mr. Goodie2Shoes

Ideally there should be a time limit on feedback too much like ebay has but at the very least make it optional.

A feature request that I put in looong ago when using create classifieds thread and classified is featured I would love to see the relevant thread stickied automatically.

The same goes for bumped classifieds, the appropriate thread should be auto bumped with some text 'BUMP'. Would make it a lot more cohesive.

For the registered package, have you selected all other groups in the "User is NOT a member of any of the selected User Groups"?

I have the same

Yes, it's an issue I have yet to look at.

Okay, will add it to my to-do list. :)

Ability for admins and mods (permission based of course) to mark a classified as sold or bought.
And it shall be added :D

Marking as bought or sold to allow the input of final negotiated price so that the "Total Revenue Facilitated" is more accurate.
I'll see what can be done about this.

When an ad is marked sold it asks the person to enter The Other Party, and states that it is required. How do we make this optional?
You can't at this moment. The way system sees it is that if you are marking the ad as closed, then the transaction has been done by a second party in this community.

How can we reduce the title limit from 100 characters?
That's a hard coded limit in the database table.

+1, that's actually a bit of a show stopper for us too. I noticed when I was testing. Feedback should be 100% optional. @Mr. Goodie2Shoes
Feedback IS 100% optional: the user can just go to another page, but I get your point. Maybe I should add a check box in the closing form asking if the user wants to rate the other party or not.

I might've missed this feature request. o_O

Yeah, it does make sense.

getting this error:
Looks like the installer didn't get properly executed for the upgrade.

I have error when i try share classified via fb.
This is due to the missing open_graph meta tags.

@Nelson T.

So for example, if you have a group called active users which are also registered users (because everyone is a registered user to start with), the active user is offered 2 fees- one for active users, one for regular users.
Please tell me how showing packages made available to specific groups being available to a user belonging to the SAME groups is a bug? Just because it doesn't work the way you expected doesn't mean that it is a bug.
He also claims version RC5 corrected this, but it didn't.
I didn't mention anywhere in my post that I CORRECTED it, I just said I added support for user criteria that will give admins the ability to filter the packages more based on the user themselves.

Others are finding that the notification system does not work right.
The notification system is working correctly, the issue was related to a database entry that has been fixed in RC 5.

Add to that that the coder disappears every now and then without notice
Not coming online for a day does not mean disappearing. I have 8AM to 5PM classes three days a week: that is the only reason I can't come online every three days per week and there's nothing I can do about it this semester. Though I do try to get back to everyone from my mobile phone, but that's not always possible.

I'm using this system at a fairly large (6.6 million post, 118,000 member) guitar website - tdpri.com - and it's replacing Photopost Classifieds. So far, it's vastly superior to that decades old but still rotten software. We just converted to XF this past weekend.

I'd like to request a setup option to make the List View the default view for everyone rather than the Grid View.

And, we had the Location set up as mandatory - but we found you could enter any location in the world into the location search box and it would show that as your location. Scammers from Nigeria would have loved to show themselves on a Google Map as being located in New York City. So, we turn the built in location off.

That whole "upload a file" button really needs to go away or be optional in the application's set up.

The new formating you adopted from DPF is great - except the Price - you keep putting that in a "button" style graphic and it gets lost. The same is true on the Grid view. I'd like to suggest you make the price large, black and bold just like DPF did.

Here's a screen shot of the Classified Ad the way you set it up in RC4 - see how the Price is impossible to read?

And here's how an ad looks with the price large bold and black - and not on a button background:

Just because something doesn't work the way you want it to, doesn't make it a bug.
If you want something specific, offer the devolper some compensation to make you something specific.

Already possible. System options > List Settings > Default List View Mode

System options > Classified Settings > Disable Attachment Uploader

Just give him a refund and send him on his way, he's been passive aggressive towards you for well over a year now...

That's basically how XenForo's permission system work. I'll see what I can do about this.

Thanks. I'm not sure about others, but more frequent bump intervals are a valuable reward for our members.

Not sure how he did it (I'm not a dev), but it's working correctly with this addon: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/sonnb-up-thread.831/

Yes, it's an issue I have yet to look at.

Thanks for the update.

Okay, will add it to my to-do list. :)

That's a hard coded limit in the database table.

Thank you. While you're working with titles is there a chance you can add a way to modify the character limit? 100 characters is far too many to maintain a clean, compact appearance :)

You can't at this moment. The way system sees it is that if you are marking the ad as closed, then the transaction has been done by a second party in this community.

I'm not quite sure I understand this, you said it isn't optional in my reply then you said it is :D

Many transactions occur off the site or people choose not to leave feedback, so we definitely need a way to bypass this.
