Current Litigation

I have a bit to say on how this went down, but alas I must hold my tongue. It's not that I would say anything insulting but I don't feel like stirring anything up for either side.

Suffice to say that I really, really dislike IB's actions in all this. I just have to wonder if XenForo will receive any sort of compensation for the money and time spent on these cases.

American Justice is an oxymoron.

I don't use inferior software, so I felt obliged to ditch vB and switch to Xenforo.
Now, as this legal farce continues, I realize even in 2015 if vBulletin is better than Xenforo, I can't support IB and their lame business tactics.

McDonalds had more than 700 complaints about people getting burned with their scalding hot coffee (180 - 190 degrees) prior to the lawsuit and did nothing [10 years of negligence]. Coffee served at home is generally 135 -140 degrees. So, the ruling in that case was right. Justice was served.

So it's all about the temperature, not the safety of the cup. That's like driving a Ferrari into a tree and then suing Ferrari because the car is 'dangerously fast'. Coffee can be extremely hot, hot liquids can burn your skin, therefore you should be extremely careful and probably not try to open it and drink it in your car. And if you do, you should only blame yourself when you spill it. But that's the problem with people these days isn't it? They can't take responsibility for their own actions. Anyway, sorry for going on about this off topic case, but it does show the absurd lawsuits in the U.S. and they do not happen for example in Europe.

If I've learned anything over the years, its that God is just and that everything happens for a reason. We may not know why, but sooner or later we will know. After all, God paints on a far bigger canvas :)
Yeap, all the folks in the World Trade Center, Columbine, Oklahoma City, and Virginia Tech all agree with that... :)

Or if your an extreme aethist like me you wonder why people waste their lives believing in something which has never shown any proof of existance :) Not having a go but nobody will convince me of any deity existing until they can give me proof. (ooh religeon, the nasty topic of any forum

While im disapointed at todays results, I think to be honest the judge is probably a bit far out of his depth with this case given his age, and the reason he hasn't dismissed it is because he will want to see the evidence one way or the other before dismissing it.

Some people really do need to stop getting so wound up, this has nothing to do with religion.

Neither IB nor XF have won [or lost] anything, all thats happened is the case hasnt been dismissed outright at the first step.

It will simply proceed like any normal case and be assessed on the evidence. :)

All three motions to dismiss were denied by the judge. I have no further information at this time.

Very sad to hear that, but hopefully the end result will be positive. I am sure the judge simply needs a bit more time to view the facts, and when he does so, he will side with you. This is a frivolous suit.

Good luck, and please continue to be original and pioneers in your work.

Probably best if we keep religion out of the thread.

Can we get back on topic please?
I wasn't bringing "religion" into the thread. I was stating my feelings and opinion, which I have a right to.
But since some people have a tendency to jump on you when you mention anything of the kind, I'll keep my beliefs to myself, for now.

I wasn't referring to you specifically Peggy, just in general.

I never mentioned anything about "bringing" religion into the thread.
I just made a request to keep it out of it.

I feel sorry that everyone was quick to attack his post. He's a good person you know.

I also say back to topic. :)

Didn't say you were hun. I just think it's funny that others are so quick to jump on any "religious" comments, but we don't jump on them for their beliefs.
No, not funny. Sad.

Anyway, back on topic.
