Current Litigation

Guys, can we not attack the judge. Doing so may cause more harm than any good (or lack of) whatsoever.
I don't see how it can do any harm. WE are not involved in the case. They can't hold anything against K.A.M for things WE say. We are allowed to have an opinion and voice it.

Regardless, no point on saying anything in that regard until we know more details.

The judge isn't being attacked. This is a collection of information about this judge who, upon review, appears to overturned on appeal almost more than any other judge.

This is XenForo's company forum and as such, allowing certain comments against the presiding judge certainly wouldn't be advisable.
I'm referring specifically to insults and the like, not just general comments.

Agreed.
So far all there has been is various links to web sites.

I've already seen a thread start off with links then descend into attacking. It'd be a shame for posts to be remove or the thread to be closed.

I guess I can somewhat see your point. It would likely be frowned upon. Don't really think there is anything that can legally be done about it against XenForo. Anyway, I still stand by my other comment in that we shouldn't really comment until we now more about it.

Yes, lets keep this on a positive note. It doesn't help, and can certainly hurt. :)

It seems, based on the articles, that 9th circuit is one disagreeing with him and the 9th circuit is -- unless I am mistaken -- the most overturned in the country. Which might mean that the Judge is level headed and practical in a place where that is rare. ;)

Another thing about the articles is that the Judge seems to be a man who wants to preside based on the merits and doesn't hold for stupidity. Both are admirable qualities in a judge and, at least in my opinion, preferred in the long run even if it is an inconvenience at the moment.

I am so sorry to hear this, infact, gobsmacked. How on earth could the motions NOT be dismissed? Says a lot for a legal system where McDonald's can be sued for selling hot coffee which the customer then spilt onto themselves. An absolute shambles of a legal system.

I could not agree with you more.

I am very disappointed in today's ruling. From a layman's point of view it should have been open and shut. I'll be here for the long term. I'm sure justice will prevail. Hang in their XenForo!!!

Jeff
That's why we don't make the big bucks. :)
Work continues on our sites.

I'm sure, if the worst came to the worst and a legal fees fund had to be setup, between us I'm sure we could all help out. If IB think that they can bully XF into going away, they have another thing coming.

If there is anything that a judge believes there is more info on... Then that is reason to continue... It doesn't mean anything other than the judge wants to hear more!

I stick with my first take... If you've never lived in the USA... Then why bother attending or fighting any nonsense that occurs their? That is like IB trying to take me to court in the USA when I live in australia. Unless they have enough to get a court order to arrest and transfer across borders... Their time will be wasted... And less face facts... That doesn't occur for civil proceedings typically of this small nature.

I say ignore them in the USA and stick with fighting them in your own country.

The Risk though is that by doing that, judgement would be rendered against xenforo and doing any business would xenforo would be considered illegal. Furthermore, think about the risks, including embargos that could be imposed regarding money.

McDonalds had more than 700 complaints about people getting burned with their scalding hot coffee (180 - 190 degrees) prior to the lawsuit and did nothing [10 years of negligence]. Coffee served at home is generally 135 -140 degrees. So, the ruling in that case was right. Justice was served.
