CTA Featured Threads & Portal

CTA Featured Threads & Portal [Paid] 2.17.0

Al lot of that can be added using the WF add-on.

I could add widget functionality but it's not a high priority as an add-on already exists.

I have something specific planned for polls.

Fair Point. I guess I was referring to more widget options like recent threads, a poll display, category/specific content pages, etc. But I understand that some of those things may be too niche.

It's looking good.
Those suggestions seem more inline with how a CMS would work, not a Portal/Landing Page, could be wrong though.

I'm probably not the only one who didn't realise that. I think it would be good for you to set up a couple of demo homepages where FT and WF are used to create a widget rich Portal homepage. If I was someone just looking in on FT it seems a bit basic by itself for what I need but if you showcase what can be achieved by combining it with WF then that's a whole different ball game.

I think a CMS is far more advanced with the ability to plug in addons and all sorts. A portal is a more basic CMS with a few widgets to make it look more CMS-like

Here's one which has recent posts in the sidebar: http://www.racedepartment.com/

Another with widgets at the top of the page and in the sidebar: https://www.aspiescentral.com/

Another: https://www.v6mustang.com/

One with the gallery carousel at the top: https://zroadster.org/

I think zRoadster and especially racedepartment are a good sell for this addon. You should definitely put together a showcase of sites that use it and look different because that's the number one thing people want to see. They want to see what can be achieved.

Bit curious, does this addon allow for x amount of featured threads to appear in the sidebar on a certain template? Or would that require some custom code to make possible?

Brogan updated CTA Featured Threads & Portal with a new update entry:

Guide: Utilising the custom templates on the featured and archive pages

With the release of version 2.13, it is now possible to insert advertisements or content between the blocks, or even in them.

The following templates are available on the featured page:
cta_featuredthreads_featured_custom_top
cta_featuredthreads_featured_custom_middle
cta_featuredthreads_featured_custom_bottom
cta_featuredthreads_featured_custom_sidebar
cta_featuredthreads_featured_list_item_body
cta_featuredthreads_featured_list_item_below

Is it possible to insert a BD widget in those new templates:
cta_featuredthreads_featured_list_item_body
cta_featuredthreads_featured_list_item_below
?

By "main forum page" do you mean the home page?
I mean where my forum is. For example; xenforo.com/community but in my case it is puropedia.org
If so, there is no Forums breadcrumb there. See here: http://support.cliptheapex.com/
I have breadcrumbs in both forum and featured threads.
My forum index is empty.
When the index page route is set as forums/, which is the default, only 'Forums' shows in the breadcrumb.
It doesn't matter in my case. Even if index page route is empty or set as forums/, in both cases, there are 2 breadcrumbs being displayed.
I don't entirely follow.
Was I able to clear things up?
