Pasting images
If you use Chrome or Firefox and have an image in your clipboard, you can simply paste it into the editor. It will automatically be uploaded as an attachment if possible. If the upload is successful, this works exactly like uploading an image and then clicking the "full image" button.

Note that in Chrome, the image data must be in your clipboard (such as from pressing print screen). In Firefox, you can either have image data or you can copy a file that's an image and paste that.
This is the result when copying a pic from Finder to Firefox 22, only a placeholder was uploaded:

Hmm, in Firefox it works different. Only a img-link to the image is inserted.

Code:

Okay that works fine I copy an image in a website. Apparently it just doesn't work if we copy a image file using the Finder in OSX.

I don't think it works with FF.

Not sure what Finder is..

I think we need to copy image's data not the file itself. For example copy from website or in Editor or from Print Screen.

The issue in question is rather specifically about pasting a file from Finder. It's not related to having image "content" in the clipboard, but an actual file reference. Additionally, the behavior in other OSes will vary.

At worst, we can't do anything about it and it's a browser issue. At best, we can only suppress the finder preview. It depends what data is exposed.

It would be nice if there was some sort of a message telling people they can just drag and drop an image. It's so hidden, no one knows about it.

You could add a phrase under the editor perhaps, it's just one of those things people learn over time :D

Yeah I hope so. It's really a hidden feature. I don't know how someone would just discover this. Likely they will click on upload a file. Even having some explanatory text there that you can drag and drop would be nice. How about a message that appears when you hover over the upload a file button: "Or simply drag and drop it in your message". That would work. Anyone else have any ideas?
