The server is stuck wanting to finish the rebuild manually, but for some reason is unable to continue. I'm getting these errors when trying to view PC's.

Code:

Okay, was able to complete the rebuild process after disabling the add-on. Once that was completed and the add-on re-enabled everything appears to have gone back to normal. :)

@Daniel Hood , I need an option to turn off the "search" feature of this mod. Basically, I do not want any conversations in the search indexes at all because they are taking up a mammoth amount of the search index and is also really impacting on search relevancy (since 99% of results are disregarded) and also performance. Please can you tell me how to disable this feature and also flush the indexed conversations from the search index (I'm using enhanced / elastic search).

I need the other features but need to disable the conversation search

Deleting the searchhandler from the xf_content_type_field table should work.

@Rob did this work for you?

I'd also appreciate an option to disable the search feature :)

I haven't removed the handler Joe as I'm waiting for the mod to include this natively.

Export would be useful, especially when boards have a conversation pruning policy for older convos. Not sure it should be in the mod core though, sounds like a separate add on to me.

sounds like a separate add on to me.

There is already a seperate add-on for that. ;-)

To be or not to be in the core mod should be a decision based on being useful in the majority of the installations. A criteria which "Inbox Filter" does not match IMHO, but "Export" would. ;-)

I agree it's more useful, but feature creep is a fine balance. Neither function helps me personally nor more than 99% of my members.

Conversation spam is very rare.

It depends what kind of community you're running! :) I've asked Daniel to include the filter function because for my community (teenager community where A LOT of girls get really "weird" conversations from guys) it's a must have.

I'm totally on your side, i don't like either when an addon get's bloated but you always have to see both sides.

I'm using Conversation Essentials and I'm about to upgrade from 1.1 to 1.4. I can see in my installation that current version 1.1.2 is relying on TMS. I intend to remove this add-on. Is the new version of Conversation Essentials relying on this add-on?

No, everything uses template modifications (xf core as of 1.2). You should probably update conversation essentials just to be safe though before you uninstall tms

That was going to be my next question. Even though ConvEss does not support 1.1 it's best practice to update the product before going to Xf 1.4?

Hmm no more recent versions are incompatible with 1.1 so that won't work. You should probably disable add ons while you update xenforo and then update your addons.
