I want to make a black gaming site as my new xenforo forum.
Every Black person I ran this idea by thinks it's a bad idea. I ran the idea along my coworkers at work. We were all standing in a group. This was the reaction:
Black Guy1: Bad idea. Waste of money. You could spend that $30 a year on a bottle of absolut
Black Guy2: Your shooting yourself in the face.
Black Guy3: Ain't nobody got time for all that bull****
Black Guy4: That's racist. White guys will join to troll you and black dudes won't join cause it's racist.
Black Guy5: That site will only be up for 3 months. Them white hackers gonna bring it down.
^^^This was the real world response. I created a thread about this on a hip hop forum and this was the online response:
Guy6: All they would talk about is Madden and 2k11
Guy7: That's racist.
Guy8: LMFAOOOO
Guy9: Racist...neogaf da goat gaming forum
Guy10: man fukk a neogaf. they dont let no trill niccas post over there
Guy11: alot of black folk still think the internets are for nerds
Guy12: na, they just went from myspace to facebook. they never knew anything about forums
Guy13: i'd like to know so i can go and gentrify it.
Guy14: why the hell would u want a black gaming forum? the fukk race gotta do with gaming
Guy15: No cism, but I imagine a black gaming site/forum would be very boring. Niccas ain't playin no "indie"/"artsie" games like LittleBigPlanet, Heavy Rain, or Super Meat Boy.
Guy16: Yep all my Black friends play is Madden, 2K, FIFA, and Fight Night Yet im actually the only one that isnt entertained by any of the above game.
Blah blah more 'wtf kind of weird ass idea is this' type of posts. I know a Black gaming forum is a bad idea, but I'm curious to see the power of XenForo first-hand. Would people get addicted to a forum, from the coolness of the features of the forum alone, even though the premise of the site doesn't make any sense to them? Hmmm. I love to experiment. I'm gonna do it but that's not why. Even though I know it's a bad idea logically, I think it's a great idea creatively. I love a challenge.
