XF 1.5 Banned Email Addresses *.yandex.com

A couple weeks ago, we are having problems with spammers attempting to use @Yandex.com email addresses and getting caught in the user moderation queue. So I added *.yandex.com to banned email addresses. Just looked and someone was able to attempt to register with that address today. Did I do something wrong? Here is the screenshot of the config.

It should be *@yandex.com.

What you have entered won't match any email addresses.

So I’ve got the same issue but with spammers using the contact form. I seem to still be getting emails from users with a yandex email when I ban *@yandex.com. Does banned emails also apply to the contact form?

No, banned emails only apply to registering.
